I know... I can't eat too much of that stuff because I'll get sick. My friend made a nutella cream cheese mini sandwiches for a picnic before and although it tasted good at first, after eating just a few, I couldn't stomach any more. It really is too sweet.

I stumbled across this one last week (I swear, I was really looking for porn, not a chocolate fix!)

    http://arismenu.com/homemade-vegan-nutella/

    Ingredients

    1 cup toasted hazelnuts
    2-3 tablespoons coconut oil, melted
12 ounces dark chocolate, melted and cooled
    1 teaspoon vanilla extract
    pinch sea salt
    Instructions

Place hazelnuts in food processor or Vitamix and blend until broken down and nuts start to form a big mound. Continue to blend and stream in coconut oil 1 tablespoon at a time until nut butter consistency. Add melted chocolate, vanilla and sea salt and blend until well combined. Store in an airtight container for 2-3 weeks.

lol, a likely story! This one is way easier than the one I used actually...and with only dark chocolate to sweeten it...Mmmm

No really, I typed in XXX hot man, and the browser just took me to home made Nutella! All by itself. I swear!

Okay, I lied. I'm saving recipes like this in case PMS rears its ugly head and demands to be fed. At least that way I'll have to go through the effort of making it and I can control the ingredients.

    *hangs head in shame*

I don't get it. It's too sweet, gooey and kinds of like peanut butter except it's too sweet and gooey. Maybe I'm just not doing it right but, I don't understand the fuss over Nutella. I've tried smearing it on toast but... So, what's the attraction?

You're obviously eating it incorrectly...a jar and a spoon, all you need! For the candy lovers, put it in the fridge and it turns into fudge...

ETA: Our local Costco sold an 11 pound jar this past Christmas (all I could do to resist!) it is now available on Amazon...

It's already been said, but Nutella is the bomb-diggity. I fell in love with it while living in Germany and having access to the world's finest chocolates, baked goods, and ice cream. My preferred method of Nutella delivery would be on a croissant, but that's pretty rich for some. Heck, I'd probably eat a flip flop if it had Nutella on it.

    Flip flop....best quote!
Love nutella on a croissant with a sprinkle of cinnamon but isnt that making something that is supposed to be semi healthy not so much????

Nutella is wonderful goodness and it's happiness in a jar. I can't keep it around, I will eat it too quickly, off a spoon, on toast, on ice cream, in protein shakes...did I mention off of a spoon...yuuummmmyyyy

Mmmm Nutella. On bananas or strawberries or pretzels. My daughter loves when I make strawberry Nutella crepes. I love a crepe with half peanut butter half Nutella and bananas. I've also made a pretty awesome Nutella Cheesecake Dip which I served with strawberries and graham crackers at my sister's bridal shower.

I used to eat half a jar per day when I was obese. I would freeze the jar, take it out twenty minutes to soften, and eat it with a spoon. It tastes like chocolate icing. I don't keep any in the house now. 3/4 cup greek yogurt with cocoa powder = less than one tablespoon of Nutella. Dangerous.

I could eat a jar of Nutella in one sitting if my conscience let me (I'm also originally from Europe and we love our hazelnutty chocolaty goo).

Meh. It tastes ok but nothing that bowls me over. I like it mainly because it is a good low sodium substitute for peanut butter. Taste-wise, I'd choose PB any day of the week.

    1) take a sheet of butter puff pastry
    2) spread with nutella
    3) roll and cut into thin slices
    4) lay on baking paper covered cookie sheet and bake in oven until puffed and golden.
    5) you're welcome.

My son has selective eating disorder (extreme picky eating) and Nutella is a staple food for him.

No, it isn't healthy. But it provides fat/calories to a slim kid who hates almost EVERYTHING. It's smooth, and the very sweet, he eats it most everyday.

I've read that European children with the disorder eat it similarly well.

I think the attraction is that it's sweet, gooey, and kind of like peanut butter, except chocolate. :)

^ THIS! I LOVE Nutella and can't wait until my birthday again to get another Nutella cake! That's the only reason I am excited to turn 30!

Also, I just want to point out the lack of a word for "too sweet" in the English language. It bugs me every time I say "too sweet"

    Try "saccharine."

My preferred method of eating Nutella? Plop a spoonful or so on a plate and dip mini marshmallows in it.
