Shorties (5'3 and under) where do you gain your weight?

Tummy, but I also have diastasis, so it looks big even when I'm thin. I've always had it, also before kids.0

I am 5'2 and a half. My upper half...mostly my stomach area, but I also have problems with back bulge around my bra area as well as flabby arms! :ohwell: My legs always stay fit and toned though...but tummy weight is SO SO hard to lose! Ugh! Especially after you have been pregnant!!0

I am 5'3 and apple shaped, so I gain in my back, tummy, and hips.0

I first got weight on my tummy and my boobs, but I think it just varies by the person. I have tall friends who gain weight all over and look fine because there's more height for it to distribute.0
-
5'3" here, belly, butt, hips, thigh are where I hold on to it, boobs were the first things to disappear :-(0
-
I'm 5'2" and my weight seems to spread out pretty evenly. I get it on my arms, face, stomach, back, hips, thighs, and butt, but because it's spread out, it doesn't look pronounced and people rarely believe me when I tell them my weight. Hoping it'll disappear evenly too as I lose weight. :laugh:0

I’m 4’ 9” and I think I’m top heavy. I’m heavier near my tummy, upper arms, and bust. At a healthy weight I seemed to be broad shouldered. I wish I was an hourglass, but I’m learning to embrace my shape. I hope I don’t lose too much in the bust area0

I am 4 10'. Boobs, thighs/legs, butt & tummy! lol I am all kinds of jacked up! ! I don't mind the butt but or the boobs.0

As some other people have said, I think it's dependent on your shape. I'm 5'1" and an hourglass/muscular (a bit naturally bulky for my height), so it goes everywhere. The first place I noticed fat loss was my upper back. I've never had much of a belly overhang, which is nice. However, now that I've lost weight I'm a medium top (34D or DD), size 6 bottom, but plus-sized legs (seriously, I went to get thigh highs...) and thick arms too. I'm resigned to my thick limbs.0

I definitely gain the weight in my stomach. It's horrible because the abs is the area I'm most obsessed with toning too probably because it's where the fat always seems to go. I think everyone is different and it depends on different factors where the weight is gained. I have a sort of boyish figure and am not curvy.0

5'3".... All goes to my core: waist & hips. NOT good.
BUT when I lose it, I am one of the lucky ones who have an hour glass shape so I'll take it! :bigsmile:0 -
THIGHS. Oh, how I hated my thighs, growing up! There's a little pocket of fat that hangs out right under each butt cheek, and on the inside of each thigh. Damn genetics. Thanks, Mom. :ohwell:0

5' 2". Butt and hips. I've always been pear-shaped, but the older I get the worse it gets: hormonal changes affect body fat distribution. As I can't be super active because of injuries, the only way I can control it is to watch my calorie intake.
According to my scale, my visceral fat is low, so that's a small comfort.0 -
My biggest problem area and where i carry most of my weight is my belly and thighs0
-
mine is belly and thighs..its so horrid and gross looking..:sad:0
-
5'0 and it all goes to my thighs first and then stomach0
-
i gain in my tummy and then my boobs. Pretty evenly, actually.0
-
My thighs, my tummy/hip area is the last.0
-
Stomach because of insulin resistance
Also my thighs, butt, and boobs (went from a 30/32 A to a 38 DD/E) :noway:0 -
i'm 5'3" long legged but short waisted. Almost all of my weight goes directly to my stomach.0
-
4'11" And it's all my stomach! Ok, I got some lower body issues, but my stomach constantly looks pregnant. And after 4 kids, it ain't getting better.0
-
My butt!0
-
FACE, love handles and thighs! And it's the smallest weigh gain that triggers it!0
-
For me, the fat distribute pretty evenly. Face+arms+legs+stomach+hands+etc0
-
All over. I'm an hourglass :-) even after losing 50-odd pounds I still have a generous coating, but there's more round my bum and thighs these days. Still want to lose another 13lb!! I'm really lucky that core exercises have a flattening effect on my stomach though!!0
-
Im the exact same as you! if I had a tummy tuck/ lipo all my problems would disappear! lol0
-
I think it has more to do with your body shape (I am an hourglass).
I have read things lik ethis: http://caloriecount.about.com/forums/weight-loss/weight-loss-different-women-body-shapes
Since I am an hourglass, my midsection stays fairly small but I gain in my upper arms and my thighs/butt0 -
I agree with this 100% I also have the hourglass shape and it all goes to my thighs/butt and upper arms, now for my husband he is a cone shape it all goes to the stomach and upper body no legs, no thighs, no butt lol.0
-
5'1" and hourglass shaped. It goes to my face right away, and then my hips and butt. I know I really need to start paying more attention when it goes for the tummy.0
-
5ft 2 here
Thigh, big butt and stomach (43" at hips and 36" at waist) :grumble:0
