Why I shouldn't listen to my husband...

Why don't you just keep them in the freeze -- only keep a few in the fridge and it will keep you from eating 5 or 6 at a time cause you will have to wait for them to thaw.
2 under each armpit, 2 in the mouth. . . .I'm counting 6 in 60 seconds. . . . . .0 -

I bet they taste amazing frozen, particularly on a hot summer's day with a big glass of ice cold milk
I would imagine so, since the two wet ingredients to bind all the dry ingredients are a stick of butter and a can of sweetened condensed milk.0 -

I suppose not so much cookie dough though...0 -
OMG you'd love to have my husband. He HATES anything sweet. He NEVER eats cake, cookies, donuts, etc. If he's craving something sweet he'll have an apple.
Yeah, I married a weirdo. :noway:0 -

My husband isn't huge on sweets either. He's typically a "salty carb" type guy. Particularly fries and potato chips. Which is why it's so hard to resist his request for a sweet treat... I love to make them, and he doesn't ask for them often.0 -
Gee...thanks....I just put on 5 lbs looking at them!0

I've told myself that every time I feel like I want one, I need to go do a "lap" first.... 3/4 mile walk. That should work as damage control, right?
Absolutely!0 -

My wife would say the same thing about me.0 -
Question for you. I am thinking this would be a nice addition to the Christmas cookie trays I make for my husband's customers (I make between 1500 and 2000 ''items'' - a cookie being one item),, how long can they be out of the fridge?
I live in Texas, where we frequently are still using a/c during the holidays :ohwell: but generally once the trays are delivered the treats disappear quickly (husband says in 15 minutes a HUGE tray is spinning with just a couple M & Ms left ) but if they're going to go soft quickly, I'll have a problem.
Oh, yah... I'm really looking forward to watching calories/logging during the baking holidays :grumble:
thanks!0 -
can I get a recipe up in here?0

Omg those look soooooo good. I bet they are delicious frozen.0
-
Yep, I'll be making those next weekend.0

my hubs would ask for them with puppy dog eyes and then he would eat them all. I try to say to no him because he needs the weight control but then I suck at turning him down.0

Just for a size reference

I doubled the chocolate chips and skipped the walnuts:

edit to add: I only used 1 pack of candy coating, because I made my truffles a little bigger than the recipe calls for.0 -

If it was me, I would knaw on them frozen, until they thawed. Hahaha :laugh:0 -
My advice is...
fedex them to me. I will take care of those for you. Yep. I'm nice like that.0 -
You should have enough to share with the class.0

My husband is a skinny mickey and I have to feed him up with cake every day, chocolate, sweets after meals, beer etc or he fades away and all his bones stick out. Chocolate fudge cupcakes are his favourite. I make fabulous ones, along with lemon and blueberry muffins with lemon curd inside. I also make him lemon shortbread to have with his morning coffee.
Luckily for me I'm the salty one and I'm not tempted.:bigsmile:0 -

I love just about anything involving lemon curd. One of my favorite dessert flavors. Chocolate is delicious but it comes in behind Citrus, seedless raspberry, and apple cinnamon desserts for me. My favorite "truffle" thing to make is a lemon and white chocolate combo. So yummy.0 -
Why didn't you make some for only him? Why 4 dozen?0
-
My plan, initially, was to take them to a cookout with several friends and share most of them, while reserving a dozen for us. The cook out didn't happen. I'll be giving some away, I think.0

They look so yummy!0
