    Not about working out but,

    "look at you skinny"

um no, I'm not. I still in the obese category.

I get that they're trying to be motivating and telling me I've done well, BUT, what are they going to be saying when I've lost more weight. Will it then be, I've lost too much, I look too skinny? I feel like this will be a no win situation. smh

    laughing, sort of

    i want a donut

I want one, but I would eat three.

^^This, except for basically any carb.

Everyone that I know thinks I'm weird for trying Paleo recipes or avoiding potato chips or not having a bun on my hamburger, especially my husband. I've told him this, but it doesn't actually make sense to him that I could literally sit down and eat an entire loaf of banana bread with butter, or make a thing of Pillsbury biscuits and eat ALL of them. Unless there is only one, I have SO much trouble stopping once I get started with any carbs, whether they're sweet or salty.

I appreciate that people are being nice by bringing homemade cookies to work and leaving some on my desk so I don't miss out, but man. Talk about unintentional sabotage.

On topic, I have have friends say "Well, you just want to get toned, right? You don't want to get all muscley." Actually, yes, I do want muscles. Muscles are pretty :)

"Wow, you do triathlons? I have ALWAYS wanted to do one but I just can't swim/bike/run."
Yeah, well, my bike, swim cap, and running shoes are made of unicorn tears and fairy dust, so I've never had to work at any of the three sports...

I get this one a lot, " Do protein shakes work?"

WTF do you mean "do they work?" It's not a drug, it's food! Does your sandwich work?

This made me LOL so hard. :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou:

Loved this one! Can I borrow some fairy dust for my race this weekend? Feeling a bit might help me on the run!

I have heard so many dumb things said by people or harsh comments that I sadly only hear the bad.....when I weighed 145, on this frame, I looked like a walking bag of bones because a majority of me was loose skin from losing so much weight. So now, I'm like 30 plus pounds heavier, stronger, healthier, happier, fit in 3/4s of those same clothes, can lift heavier and can handle how my body feels. Showed a friend today of the old picture of me then she saw older pics....then more recent....she goes, "You were BIG BIG, then you got small, and now you're thick again. You looked real good at the 145." Then she gave me a thumbs up to the ollddd picture.....really made me upset because I have always hated how I looked. I don't wanna be a number. I wanna be fit, sexy, healthy, strong and myself. Everyone who thinks I'm obese, by scale terms or bmi, can go somewhere.....

It's probably the silliest thing that bothers me, but when people ask "what's your secret?" I get a little bit crazy! Seriously people, it's no secret. Move more, eat less (especially less crap food) and you'll notice the difference.

I also really hate the "you're depriving yourself!" comments when I avoid something I know is bad for me and will make me feel gross. I don't feel deprived in any way, so what business is it of yours??

    Rant over.

    Diet related:

"Is that allowed in your diet?" "Are you still losing weight?"

Says the person next to me when I decide to eat something delicious (i.e. s'mores or chicken fajita nachos) that I have carefully worked into my day.

It's not a diet, it's a lifestyle change and I refuse to cut out the things that I love (I tried that with the nachos, but it just isn't happening. They're my favorite.)

Yes, I am still losing weight. Do you really think this ONE s'more is going to cause me to put all 42 pounds back on?!

    Goodness!

The only working out comment is: "Walking isn't exercise".

Most of the comments are food related, usually from food racists. "Oh you eat bread/rice/pasta/cake/cookies?" Yeah. If I didn't there'd be quite a few dead bodies laying around TYVM. The difference now is that I don't eat the whole thing, despite how much I want to.

    Exactly what I was thinking...
    LIMITING not ELIMINATING...if I want a frikkin S'more, I'll have one...and like you said, it's a lifestyle CHANGE.
Eliminating all of your favorite foods is only going to make you miserable...I'm learning how to balance the good AND the bad and it's working out GREAT!

    Dumbest 'exercise' comment..
    "That's not HIKING!"

heard this on a few occasions...especially if I mention my 'pace', speed and/or mph

I'm NOT walking on a treadmill, or along a paved road, or any 'flat, level surface' for that matter...
I'm HIKING out in the desert boonies dodging creosote bushes and Joshua Trees, up and down over 'washes' and trekking over a terrain made up of large rocks and deep sand. My average 'pace' or speed is about 2.5mph but speed isn't everything..my focus is solely on intensity and duration....NOT speed.
    Call it what you want..
    I call it HIKING

"Not every woman can be a size 4! My hips are too wide!"
I said the same thing, I was wrong, you probably are too

This is the only one that I disagree with. My hips literally are too wide. I have a 10 inch difference between my waist and my hips and I will never be able to fit into a size smaller than about a 7 because of my hips and my *kitten*, despite only weighing 121 lbs

I agree. Even when I was 117 lbs at 5'5", I wore a size 10. Nowadays, that might be a size 8, if I were lucky. Though I have no desire to weigh that little again anyhow. It's not a good look on me.

I get that too from weak friends but I did indeed tear my pec benching before.

Absolutely! Though, I'll warn you, this particular brand of fairy dust can't even get my run under a 10 min/mile. It was on clearance, so, you get what you pay for.

The one that gets me the most:
"Oh! You lost 20 pounds? You are so LUCKY!"

Um....no. Not luck. It takes work and dedication :)

Oh. And I also want a donut! mmmm.......
