she just went up the thermometer looking thing and finished so happy she pushed the buttons like a bunch of times...then her boyfriend climbed up to steal her thunder.

(OMG a woman would have never climbed up the rafters to congratulate her man, she'd just politely clap at the bottom.)

I really thought he was going to propose to her, and I was disappointed when he didn't.

I'm glad they aren't that corny

Haha I'm not a fan of public proposals, but after he DIDN'T propose, I was like hmm, why did he go up there?

He didn't want her to fall and hurt herself!

(Full disclosure, I wondered. I was actively thinking, don't propose! don't propose!)

Because he couldn't wait to be excited with her! She just did something incredible that they'd been working toward together; it makes total sense that they'd share the moment!

I agree. I thought it was sweet.

Public proposals make me cringe. I know lots of people love them but it almost takes away the ability to say no. I mean, I guess you still could but I'd feel really pressured by that.

Video is blocked here too :p Can't go giving the great British public the wrong idea about health and fitness.

Anyway, if this is the American Ninja Warrior girl, she's hella cool.

Steal her thunder? He's her coach, boyfriend, and 3 time finalist with America Ninja Warrior, he has his own thunder.

Why wouldn't you want to share a moment that exciting with someone? He was probably just as excited as she was.

IDK? Maybe it's just me, but if I completed ALL THAT I'd want to have my moment all by myself. When I get back down we can do all the hugging but while I'm up there I just want it to be all about me. That was a LOT of effort on her part.

You sound like someone I could never get along with.

Agree here. This the FIRST FEMALE EVER, to complete ANY course on American Ninja Warrior and the FIRST to make it to the finals. She got her thunder...................just by beating all the dudes that couldn't do it. Right now she's the most popular female athlete on the web. Excitement for many people don't cause them to think, but just to react.

i was thinking about that later....like how he might have been overcome with just wanting to get near her. like a man instinct or something. IDK, thinking about boxing, and other single person sports...tryna remember if that's what people do?

This is all a tangent though.

seriously SHE ROCKED! that was the most awesome thing I've seen in a while. Hope my teeny observation doesn't cause a thread derail.

that is the TRUE POINT here i couldn't even resist postin AS I WATCHED it was so excitiing!

I've always felt that way too... I don't know if I could handle the pressure, if it was a surprise.

If we'd talked about it, and had decided we would, and it was a decided thing, and the public proposal was a formality... then sure!

But if there's any question as to whether they'll say yes? NOT IN PUBLIC!

I thought it was weird that he climbed up there, too. Regardless, she was freaking AMAZING and my daughter about jumped out of her skin that a woman finally did that. It's something she plans to do and I don't doubt for a second that she could.

We only have Hulu, so I was late on this episode and trying desperately all day to avoid any talk of the episode, knowing that Kacy would be on it.

She friggin' OWNED that course!! I was literally jumping up and down screaming for her. SO inspirational. SO motivating. That tiny beast made every woman and girl feel her power!

To add to the b/f conversation, I also thought it strange that he climbed up there with her. A part of me thought, geez, just let her have that moment. But at the same time, I know he was just dying to celebrate with her. I see both sides.

Thank you MIrey but admittedly it's hard to judge someone straight when there's a lot of noise going around. It's been a longstanding problem with these boards i fear and it pushes people to do the unexpected. Sorry for that.

I had a chance to get to know you QUITE well and I know these are NOT your true feelings and that you are just trying to be contrary to my opinion right now and it's sad. I never betrayed your trust and still haven't. I do however know that things were misreprestented to you and would wonder why you would choose to believe what was said to you about me rather than simply ask me about it? I know things were spun to their worst possible interpretation and offered up and I could not speak up for myself. That's very unfair. To have things said about you when you don't have a voice and then to have people who actually know you ACT on them without even talking to you about it.

That's not what I'm used to and I honestly thought you were more of a direct person than that.

edit because engaging in fights isn't what I do

it wasnt' meant to be a fight, just a question that I thought might feel like answering in PM's. something I was generally wondering about you for a bit, and I just feel weird PMing certain people in certain circumstances like ours so I'm sure you'll hear about what I mean by this and you can then decide.

I meant no harm but just really felt like that was out of character for you and just had to wonder.

We watch ANW and love it and watched the night she won, it was crazy! I was watching all these guys on the poles struggle but when I saw how much smaller she was, I wasn't sure she'd make it but was thrilled to see her reach the end! I can't wait to see her in the finals!

Hubs and I were talking about the bf climbing up, saying they are surprised he didn't get kicked out or whatnot for doing that. I understand wanting to celebrate, but I think he should have waited until she came down.

I think my fave parts were where she starts an obstacle by mentally preparing herself even while the clock's ticking. I don't watch this show and have no idea if that's standard but I thought that was such smart thing to do!

Yep, she did that on the qualifying course too, and I think it definitely helped her. She kept saying how she was visualizing herself going through the obstacles.

A lot of guys try for the fastest time, but I've seen a few just totally blow it because they were reckless. She was patient and poised.

We just discovered this show about 2 weeks ago, everyone keeps telling me it has been around for quite a while! My 3 and 5 year old boys love it - but the best part was the look on their face when Kacy completed it and my 5 year old said, "Mom! Did you know that GIRLS can be Ninja Warriors too?"

That's awesome! I've never seen it until this clip. Every time I thought she was done, she went on to something else. Freaking incredible.
