Yesterday evening, on a hot and humid night, I went out and ran 5 km in exactly 30 minutes. That had been my goal since I introduced jogging into my fitness plan. My first 5km took me 40mins and my previous best was 31:08
Now to break that mark and challenge myself to get faster and improve my cardio.3 -
I ran a 10.5 minute mile, walked for a minute and then ran a 10 minute mile! Also walking past anything reflective and noticing the shape of my hamstrings and being surpised at the firmness of my arms when not even flexing!!4

These are brilliant! Very well done all
Um. Mine is possibly TMI... But, a few weeks ago I thought I was going to ahe to buy new and larger underwear as, well, I'll spare you the fine detail, but let's just say the lower part of the set wasn't sitting right (they were effectively being rolled down :noway: ).
Now I can wear them, without having to retrieve them from under the overhang (which is also shrinking nicely  ).2 -
My non-scale victory today is kind of a weird one. I’ve been working so hard this whole summer, trying to get back into shape after putting back on some weight this past winter, and I’ve done a good job. Down to the lowest weight I’ve consistently maintained ever! But I’ve also been very strict with myself (especially my drinking) and my social life has been practically nonexistent.
My NSV is that yesterday I went out and had a good time and indulged (tacos, rum drinks, etc) without shame. I didn’t feel like this was the end of the world or that I had given up and that I wouldn’t be able to jump right back in or anything. It was great. It reminded me how important moderation is and how I need to remember to relax and indulge every once in a while.
I’m back on the wagon today, ate a good breakfast and lunch and am going running later.7 -
So the number on the scale hasn't been changing at all in what feels like forever. Nobody has noticed any type of change in how I look and honestly I don't really see a difference. But...BUT there are some positives. Friday night I went out wearing a new lace back top in a 14/16 (when I normally would wear an 18/20 or 1X top) AND new high ankle boots that zip up the sides. I still need the wide calf boots but having a pair of short boots that zipped all the way up over my fat ankles was pretty awesome.
I'm also going to the gym tonight with my sister for the first time in months. It's leg day. Pray for me.1 -
Spoke to someone I hadn't seen in a few months, and they later revealed to my wife that they didn't recognise me at first :laugh:2

1. I just started lifting...not sure what I'm doing yet will soon be the owner of...
"The New Rules of Lifting for Women: Lift Like a Man, Look Like a Goddess" book. I was anxious to get started. I'm feeling things tighten up with all heavy squats I'm doing...moved up to 50 lbs squats.
2. I walk everyday but it's been a long time since my son escorted me on his bike. He was ahead of me waiting and said "I can really notice the difference now...DANG! Before, not so much but now, yeah" He calls me skinny.
3. This one is kind of mixed....my neighbor across the street has been noticing my weight loss and commented again when she saw me the other day and said she mentioned it to her husband and he didn't notice but then she said, good thing is he doesn't notice when she puts on 20 lbs either.1 -
After 3 months of really trying hard and not really having anyone notice. This weekend EVERYONE I saw noticed that I had lost 20 lbs. Which doesnt seem like much compared to the numbers I have seeing on there. I am so proud of everyone. My ultimate goal is 50lbs... I cant wait until I cross the 1/2 mark.5

20 lbs is a lot! You're doing a great job.2 -
After being unable to go to the gym last week due to our daughter being sick. I still managed to lose 2 lbs. by this morning.
I was so excited to go this morning I forgot to eat breakfast. LOL.
Got there and felt like a Warrior! I managed to do 10 machines all at 3 reps of 15; even the arms ( my weakest so far).
Then I not only managed the 15 minutes on the elliptical but bumped up the effort to 4-6 and stayed on the whole 30 minutes. I wanted to holler "Whose your Momma?"1 -
Mine is starting to have enough energy to dance again! It may just be around the house, but I LOVE to dance. I couldn't for a long time.3

Completed my first workout for couch to 5k2

I didn't dislike the way I looked in my jogging pants and sports bra today. I'm actually getting a little solid. I'm sure now there's some muscle under there somewhere, I just need to do a bit more excavating!3

Found my old pair of faded blu jeans from 2 years ago and they were too tight to fasten. Today was able to pull them on without unfastening the button. Oh my, this process is working!!!1

I had my first shot of cortisone in the hip yesterday. The instructions were to wear stretchy pants to outpatient surgery. I grabbed a pair of sweatpants that had been a little snug. When I put them on, I noticed that they were roomier than they used to be. The shot seems to be working rather well, and I'm hoping to begin walking again real soon. That's a double NSV for me!3

Put a comment and now its vanished and then I tried to edit it, so it had a comment and now I dont know what is happening. Argh!0

This morning my mom looks at me from head to toe and says "eat something".2

As I took the spring semester of college off for personal reasons, today is the first day I've been on campus since December. I made a plan to park in the side lot in the far corner of campus and walk to the library from there as I have a couple hours before my first class. Into the building by the parking lot, up a flight of steps, through the walkway that connects all the buildings including the main garage, down three flights of steps to the basement, and down the last flight to the library - and I'm not worn out at all!1

Last night my boyfriend and I went for a walk around town and as I had some calories left, I mentioned getting some froyo... but by the time we were walking past the place, I had decided to skip it and munch on the grapes I had waiting for me at home instead. Win!4

I have two both over the weekend
I was in bed and moved my arm and felt my hip bone, I used to have to poke through my fat to feel it.
On Sunday I ran a full 5k without stopping or walking.3 -
I wasn't tempted to get cookies at Subway today! And, I turned down McDonald's for breakfast a couple weeks ago without a second thought!3
-
Two different neighbor couples have mentioned my weight loss! Talk of the Town ha ha!1

I walked passed my full length mirror earlier today and had to back up and check out my thighs in these athletic shorts I'm in. I'm not totally sure what's changed but something has & I can tell!! Today is the first time in a long time I didn't cringe when I checked out my thunder thighs!! Pretty pumped about that!!2

Today's NSV is captured in my current avatar picture.. Two years apart, standing on a beach in my swim gear and in a similar pose. Surprising myself with the difference. Yikes!

Put on a pair of shorts that I haven't worn in about 15 years...they looked awesome from the back!!!0

Going from looking like the middle to looking like the right...only a 3 lb difference #stronglifts5x5
