Okay, a stupid question and although I get the jist of this post but - what is NSV?0
-
Not stupid at all. Non Scale Victory.....0

Thanks! Couldn't figure that out to save my life.....
For my NSV, my dress pants (work) are way too big and all of a sudden it looks like I shrunk because they are also way to long and drag on the ground.
I am allergic to exercise but I bit the bullet and last week started working with a personal trainer. I found someone who wouldn't be judgmental and would work with my limitations. I had my 2nd session on Wednesday and although it was really hard I made it through. It even motivated me enough to get the highest number of steps on my Garmin Vivofit ever. For most of you my measly 8253 steps is probably nothing but it was a big deal for me. Most of the steps were walking to and from my Dr.'s appointment. He was really happy with my progress and my food diary (yes he follows me on MFP).6 -
Threw my skinny jean into my suitcase for vacation assuming they would still fit since they had always been tight but ended up having to borrow a belt to hold them up.1

Not sure if this counts as a NSV...
But as I was moving a large box of cat litter around (38 pounds) I realized that's pretty close to what I've lost and it made me feel like I've actually done something good for myself, even though I have so much left to go.9 -
My friend, who I hadn't seen in a month, said I look like a different person! And I am FINALLY starting to notice the difference in the progress pictures I have been taking. My husband has been telling me all along that there was a difference in them but I am just starting to see it now and I am really liking it.5

A coworker said I am getting skinny! And this coworker isn't heavier than me; she's truly thin. I laughed it off, but it made me feel very good.3

Yesterday evening, on a hot and humid night, I went out and ran 5 km in exactly 30 minutes. That had been my goal since I introduced jogging into my fitness plan. My first 5km took me 40mins and my previous best was 31:08
Now to break that mark and challenge myself to get faster and improve my cardio.3 -
I ran a 10.5 minute mile, walked for a minute and then ran a 10 minute mile! Also walking past anything reflective and noticing the shape of my hamstrings and being surpised at the firmness of my arms when not even flexing!!4

These are brilliant! Very well done all
Um. Mine is possibly TMI... But, a few weeks ago I thought I was going to ahe to buy new and larger underwear as, well, I'll spare you the fine detail, but let's just say the lower part of the set wasn't sitting right (they were effectively being rolled down :noway: ).
Now I can wear them, without having to retrieve them from under the overhang (which is also shrinking nicely  ).2 -
My non-scale victory today is kind of a weird one. I’ve been working so hard this whole summer, trying to get back into shape after putting back on some weight this past winter, and I’ve done a good job. Down to the lowest weight I’ve consistently maintained ever! But I’ve also been very strict with myself (especially my drinking) and my social life has been practically nonexistent.
My NSV is that yesterday I went out and had a good time and indulged (tacos, rum drinks, etc) without shame. I didn’t feel like this was the end of the world or that I had given up and that I wouldn’t be able to jump right back in or anything. It was great. It reminded me how important moderation is and how I need to remember to relax and indulge every once in a while.
I’m back on the wagon today, ate a good breakfast and lunch and am going running later.7 -
So the number on the scale hasn't been changing at all in what feels like forever. Nobody has noticed any type of change in how I look and honestly I don't really see a difference. But...BUT there are some positives. Friday night I went out wearing a new lace back top in a 14/16 (when I normally would wear an 18/20 or 1X top) AND new high ankle boots that zip up the sides. I still need the wide calf boots but having a pair of short boots that zipped all the way up over my fat ankles was pretty awesome.
I'm also going to the gym tonight with my sister for the first time in months. It's leg day. Pray for me.1 -
Spoke to someone I hadn't seen in a few months, and they later revealed to my wife that they didn't recognise me at first :laugh:2

1. I just started lifting...not sure what I'm doing yet will soon be the owner of...
"The New Rules of Lifting for Women: Lift Like a Man, Look Like a Goddess" book. I was anxious to get started. I'm feeling things tighten up with all heavy squats I'm doing...moved up to 50 lbs squats.
2. I walk everyday but it's been a long time since my son escorted me on his bike. He was ahead of me waiting and said "I can really notice the difference now...DANG! Before, not so much but now, yeah" He calls me skinny.
3. This one is kind of mixed....my neighbor across the street has been noticing my weight loss and commented again when she saw me the other day and said she mentioned it to her husband and he didn't notice but then she said, good thing is he doesn't notice when she puts on 20 lbs either.1 -
After 3 months of really trying hard and not really having anyone notice. This weekend EVERYONE I saw noticed that I had lost 20 lbs. Which doesnt seem like much compared to the numbers I have seeing on there. I am so proud of everyone. My ultimate goal is 50lbs... I cant wait until I cross the 1/2 mark.5

20 lbs is a lot! You're doing a great job.2 -
After being unable to go to the gym last week due to our daughter being sick. I still managed to lose 2 lbs. by this morning.
I was so excited to go this morning I forgot to eat breakfast. LOL.
Got there and felt like a Warrior! I managed to do 10 machines all at 3 reps of 15; even the arms ( my weakest so far).
Then I not only managed the 15 minutes on the elliptical but bumped up the effort to 4-6 and stayed on the whole 30 minutes. I wanted to holler "Whose your Momma?"1
