What's on your "No" list?

There are no "No"'s in my house. If it fits in my calorie targets, and I've already met my major macros, then it's fair game.
I would say instead that there are more "YES"'s than there used to be. I'm eating food like chia seeds which I never would have done before.0 -
SODA...all sugary drinks.
hard to quit at first but a big help in weight loss.0 -
I haven't banned anything for myself. I've just tried to find healthier alternatives or limit the amount. I know for me if I tell myself I can't have something, that's what I want more than ever. I find that as I'm incorporating more veggies and fruit into my diet, I enjoy it more. I'm also thankful that my husband is willing to take this journey with me. He's not using MFP, but he's open to trying new recipes.0

There are certain foods we all try to give up completely when starting a new diet. What have you banned (or tried to ban) from your life? Pizza, pasta, soda, and red meat are on mine. Have you had long term success with banning these foods from your diet?
I LOVE red meat, bacon, fried chicken, and pizza, I won't give it up or cut it down at all...... I want red meat four or five times a week! I have cut down diet soda from " drinks nothing else" to one a day. Pasta is not something I like, so I don't have any trouble eliminating most bread, all pasta, mac and cheese ( hate that **** with a passion), turkey (Yuck!) and all salty snack junk of the Doritos/Cheetos/chips sort, don't eat any of that at all. In short, the only things I*'m willing to give up are things I don't like in the first place. Life's too short to pass up a bloody rare ribeye steak with butter-sauteed mushrooms!0 -

Canned foods with BPA lining
Non-organic produce
White bread
Fast food
Candy
Potato chips
Cookies, Ice cream, and sweets other than fruit/yogurt
And the saddest of all...Chinese food (greasy) and take out pizza (make my own with whole wheat pitas)

Cheesecake or at least it is on the list that says...you eat this you add a mile to your running that day.0

For health reasons (I am waiting for gallbladder surgery - and have been since January) I have cut out dairy heavy, rich and fried foods (I do not EVER want to revisit how ill the last curry I had made me feel) and because I am trying to repeat the last time I was successful on a diet I have cut all starchy carbs (bread, pasta, rice, potatoes) from my diet whilst I get things under control again. So far this time I have lost 11.4lbs, and I am feeling much better already.0

There's nothing that I'd say "Oooooh no, I can't eat that!"
But there's lots of things where I choose to say "I dont want to eat that"
Too much wheat makes my stomach bloat, so I ration the amount of bread and pasta I consume. I don't really like the taste of whipped cream or cheesecakey desserts, or even sponge cake. Sausage rolls or Danish pastries don't float my boat, though bizarrely I eat an almond croissant when I'm at an airport. Fizzy drinks - bloating again. But a gin and tonic once in a while is fine
Coffee upsets my stomach, I don't like the taste of coconut, or barbecue flavoured anything.0 -
i really don't have a no list. i have a long list of things i am allergic or intolerant to. No soy, corn and corn byproducts, gluten, and lactose. i also can not have raw fruit or veggies. my kids have nut allergys also. its hard to find things that everyone will eat and like at my house.0

While I don't have a specific "no-no" list of foods that aren't "allowed",there is one food that I just don't ever buy because it was a major binge food for me. Barbecue Baked Lays are something that I only used to buy with the intention of eating the entire bag (or 2 - they have 11 servings) in one sitting. That doesn't mean I think all chips are off limits, I just have a lot of negative memories associated with bingeing on baked lays -lol that sounds so stupid- and don't need them anymore.0

I don't like soda so I don't drink it. Not even the diet kind.
I don't like fake sweeteners so I avoid those.
I'm not a fan of HFCS so I avoid that.
I don't care for added sugar in my foods. I read the labels to see what sort of sugar it is and where it is listed in the ingredients and how many grams there are in a serving.
I don't eat a lot of red meat just because from a health stand point a lot of red meat isn't good for you.
The one thing I refuse to give up though is alcohol.0 -
In the last month, I finally said no to diet drinks and artificial sweeteners. I was drinking 4-6 a day and putting sweeteners in everything. I feel so much better and lost 10 pounds right off the bat. During the week I stick to my plan of no sweets, low carbs, and healthy eating. On the weekends, I splurge a little and eat what I want, but in moderation. I still struggle with saying no to wine, but try to limit it to the weekends. Watching portions and keeping accountable here on MFP has helped more than anything. I appreciate the support this group provides.0

I don't have a "no" list, BUT I do have a "do not buy" list which includes
-cakes, cookies, chips, etc
-queso/ cheese dips of any kind
-sodas
-pasta
If I want one of the above items, I think about my macros and rearrange things to fit them in. I'll go get a cookie at Starbucks instead of a package of Chips Ahoy. I think of sweets as single servings.0 -

I just stay away from overly caloric foods, honestly. But that's because I'd rather eat more low cal foods (lots of veggies, etc) than only so much of the heavier items.0

Lima beans and calf liver. *especially* when they're together on the same plate.0

I don't like being told what to do. Even by my Self. I have a great tendency to rebel against things I'm not supposed to do or have.
I don't "Black List" anything.
That being said: I don't eat artificial sweeteners because I hate the way they taste. I drink soda in moderation (and by moderation I mean one or two in a week) and I make sure I have room for it in my calorie count. I avoid dessert, but that more because I'm not a fan. I do have a weakness for chocolate, but if I feel the need I make sure the portion is small and I savor every bite like its my last.
And I would NEVER give up Pizza or Meat. Life without them is simply not worth living.0 -
Meat — including poultry and fish, naturally — dairy, eggs and other animal derivatives are on my no-no list.

I call these my red light foods. Peanut butter and Nutella. I can't seem to stop once I start.

Low fat cheese, low fat mayonnaise, anything pretending to be something tasty but failing like sugar free syrup, "diet" toppings... I think the fastest way to make me fall off the wagon is punish me with "diet" food. The real thing in moderation, pretty please!
This! No margarine in my house, only butter. Also, years ago I gave up most breakfast cereals (except good quality muesli or granola that is actually worth eating) when I realised I was only eating branflakes for breakfast to stop me eating huge mounds of buttered toast. So I decided to find a breakfast that was actually nice and switched to yoghurt and fruit. Like having dessert for breakfast!
Yes!! This too!! I will not buy margarine. The only "non fat" or "low fat" food that ever makes it into my house is non fat French Vanilla yogurt (that has sugar, not fake sweeteners) or something like cottage cheese for the kids. No other "diet" foods come in except for the occasional box of Weight Watchers Giant Latte or Cookies & Cream Popsicles...dang those things are goooooood.0 -
I am on day 51 of NO CROISSANTS! That is my favorite treat in life and I used to have one almost daily--hence the need to be here! I just can't start with them again. Ditto pie, donuts, cupcakes--I am a sweets girl--pastries, cookies, cakes, turnovers--all of it--bring it on. I just can't even any more. Chips can be in my house, no problem. Peanut butter--I can do one tablespoon on my toast in the mornings just fine. Ice cream--I don't do dairy, but I can manage the 1/2 cup of the coconut milk ice cream every once in a while. And I don't drink anything with calories--only water and tea.
So on my NO list is anything party related. I just have no self control. But I really miss croissants. Especially chocolate croissants...0 -
beyond foods that I just don't like, I have not banned anything. Yes, I don't eat as much as some foods now, but I'm not blocking them off completely.0

Almost 4 months without marshmallow fluff. I love it on a sandwich with peanut butter but I can't justify the mega high sugar content. It's not been too bad actually, I don't eat much bread these days anyway since I find that gluten-free bread mostly sucks.0

I have mercilessly removed my favorite Chinese takeout from my diet. The local place we have here is amaaaazingly delicious, but it is near impossible to know how many calories is in their massive servings and I just cannot eat reasonable portions of it. It has done my progress and I wonders to just cut it out altogether. Maybe when my fitness level is higher and I can trust myself to get a significant calorie burn, I can have it. . . But for now it is a big NOPE.0

It's very interesting to read others 'no' list. I honeslty havent banned anything... I've cut out all fast food, besides sometimes a Wendys Chili or Grilled Chicken Wrap or Side Salad. I've learned to not really think about fast-food and think of options I can cook at home.
I'm a pizza lover! I have not had pizza in months, I'm waiting for a cheat day to enjoy a slice! I'm also watching my sweets and carbs.0 -

I haven't banned any foods because I know that will just make me want it more, and soon enough I will cave in and binge on that food item. So instead, I eat everything in moderation and am doing fine with it.
However, I have gotten rid of soda/pop from my diet. This is before I even started trying to lose weight. I stopped drinking pop because it was wreaking havoc on my teeth. That was back in May and I have yet to drink a pop since (just took a sip of my boyfriend's to see what it tastes like...and it is way to strong and sweet for me now).0 -
