520 Pull! I can taste 6 plates!!

Options
If I can attribute one single exercise to the assistance of my losing of 115 pounds, it would be the deadlift.... hands down.

9 days ago, I attempted 520 and failed before even getting the weight above my shins. I was let down of course because it was the first time I had failed on a pull, but I decided that 7 days later I would attempt again.

2 days ago. I pulled 520 and the happiness immediately came across my face. I can just taste 6 plates! :D

that is awesome! I feel that happy when i can jog on the treadmill for longer than 1 min. I just can't imagine the feeling of pride that comes with that kind of accomplishment

:) Thanks! It is definitely smile worthy IMO. 4 months ago I started off struggling to be able to lift 135.

    Awesome.

Deadlift is my favorite. I hit 410 in April, but it's fell back to about 380 due to cutting.

I was in the gym a month ago when a kid hit 405 for the first time. I cheered him. I know what a big deal that is, and how it feels.

Good luck getting to 6. Monster.

    Isn't 6 plates 585lbs?

But seriously, nice pull. I was just shy of 495 last year.

ETA: Ahh, you're working towards 6 plates. My mistake. Though, what combination did you use to get 520 on the bar?

Thanks for all the awesome words of support everyone!
ETA: Ahh, you're working towards 6 plates. My mistake. Though, what combination did you use to get 520 on the bar?

I did 5 plates each side, which equals 495 lbs (including bar), plus one 10 pound per side, which equals 515, then a 2.5 pound per side to equal 520.

Understandable. They're so small, that they're hidden by the 45's due to the angle.

    Thanks again!

    NIOOOOCCCEEEEEE congrats on that

    Something fantastic about watching this.

There are a few strong men at my gym- and they load it up so bad we have some seriously effed up bars (which is-to say the least annoying as fug) but watching them pick up 7-8 plates for reps....

    is inspiring.

seriously- it's just fantastic to watch what people can and will do with their bodies- keep fighting for it. It'll happen.

(says me as a mini pep talk to myself- I'm fighting for 3 plates now)
