Me too! I love it with baby carrots or cucumber slices. I still need to try to make my own..but haven't.0

I sometimes mash up an avocado with garlic hummus, and eat it with tortilla chips. Trader Joe's has pita bread crackers that are good too. When I don't want chips or crackers with it, i have it with baby carrots.0
-
I love it too. I like the flavored kinds (usually from Trader Joe's). My favorite is cilantro jalapeño.0
-
No special prep necessary. Open tub, dip!! Tribe's Everything flavor is my all-time favorite!0
-
My fave is the spinach artichoke kind! But I love them all on carrots, cucumber sandwiches, or on rice thins, I'll even use it instead of mayo0
-
Oh drool! I use hummus instead of mayo on sandwiches, I use it as a dip for veggies...I've eaten it with a spoon right out of the container....
My M-I-L is 100% Syrian and...well, she can't cook at all, but her sister can and OHMIGAWD can this woman make hummus to DIE for. It's unreal.
....I really want hummus now.0 -
I like to fill boiled egg white halves with it, makes a lower calorie and lower fat version of deviled eggs.0

Love the stuff. Red pepper is my favorite store bought flavor. Now and then I'll make it, but I usually just buy it at the store. I mostly use it as a dip for veggies or as a condiment on sandwiches or wraps.0
-
^ Same, the red pepper flavor is my favorite! Hummus is a life-saver - it's one of the few light snacks that actually fills me up!0

Sandwich with roast veggies. LOVE.0
-
mmmmm yes! My favorite is califlower with garlic hummus0
-
I love it with Wheat Thins, carrots, peas, and mixed in with steamed broccoli. So good.0
-
Mmm!! Check out my diary... I eat hummus every single day... usually with either carrots or sweet peppers. I also love hummus with any kind of cracker or raw veggie or chip or....finger.0
-
I absolutely love hummus! Recently discovered lemon cucumbers and those dipped in hummus are incredible!0

I'd love to make my own but I don't think that kind of thing freezes well and I wouldn't be able to go through the kind of quantity I'd have to make for it to be worthwhile making it...not before it would end up going bad. I don't have anyone else to feed.0

I've learned the hard way I have to measure it out and put the container away. Otherwise I'll eat the whole thing with whatever chips or crackers it takes to get it into my mouth because my brain thinks, "It's fine. It's nutritious as well as delicious." Duh! It's still made of calories.0

I often have hummus for breakfast, with a whole wheat pita. I was making my own hummus for a while, and it was incredibly delicious, but it didn't keep very long. So back to Sabra -- the roasted garlic flavor, for preference.0

I'm just sitting dipping seeded pitta into my houmous now when I came across this thread. I love it....as a dip, as a sandwich spread and all on its own YUM0
-
Other than dipping veggies and stuff in it, I like to thin hummus out with a bit of water and use it as salad dressing!0

HUMMUS
Just about any of it is good, I like pita chips with it. Or I just use my veggies to dip in it. I really want hummus now....0 -
Hummus is amazing!
I make my own "chips" by slicing up a tortilla, spraying it with coconut oil, sprinkling it with paprika and baking for about 10 minutes in a 350 degree oven. The perfect vehicle for hummus! I also love hummus on sandwiches!
But I agree with the person above who said they have to measure - if I don't use my food scale, I am capable of scooping out two VERY generous tablespoons!0 -

I often buy hummus when it's really cheap and freeze what I don't use. It freezes just fine!0 -
Love it!
My staple lunch in work is a toasted pitta with hummus and red pepper.0 -
I love it so much! I like it with raw carrots or cucumbers, chili peppers, bell peppers, oat bread, rice cakes, corn cakes, celery sticks....yummy....0
-
yum! Love hummus... I found an amazing recipe if anyone wants it!0
-
I love hummus! I typically eat it with baby carrots or sugar snap peas, but it also goes really well on a Mediterranean salad with goat cheese, roasted red peppers and kalamata olives. Yum!0
-
Never really been into Hummus, but having read all of your posts, I'm thinking now that I'm looking for healthy snacks etc I might have to give it another chance. Thanks for inspiring me!0

I recently fell in love with the spinach artichoke hummus! I like it with those Melba wheat toast crackers. Its delicious!!0

I'm a garlic fiend, so I like garlic hummus the best, with fresh cukes.0

Hummus is basically the reason we even have a Cuisinart food processor: simple recipe:
1 large can of chick peas drained (not rinsed)
juice of 1 lemon
2 cloves of garlic
olive oil and water for processing until extremely smooth (it will thicken up a bit in the fridge and after a couple days)
salt and peps.
unfortunately you truly need a food processor and no you don't need tahini paste and you don't need to peel the dang chick peas' skin off. This is why we have food processors.
I prefer any veggie, and/or Stacey's Simply Naked chips from Costco. Use on also on shawarmas and sandwiches as a condiment. I even eat it with a spoon like OP since I sometimes make 2 cans and it is only good for about a week in the fridge.0
