Does anyone know how many calories you burn doing Zumba for the Wii? I have been doing the 20 minute workouts.

Thanks in advance!

Not srue how many calories you burn, but would love to know what you think of the game. I have the 2010 Jillian Michaels one, and the jury's still out for me.

I would love to know what you think of Zumba for the Wii. I've taken classes, and always leave drenched 40 minutes later, but would like to know if the wii experience is comparable.

I burned 350 calories in those 24 minutes (including the cool down)...

I love the Wii for Zumba, although I wish they had better graphics... the phycodellic guys drives me crazy lol

In the 20 minutes I am sweating (don't know about drenched) but definatly out of breath and pooped! I love it.
  • I have taken classes and left soaking wet too...best workout ever! I was not sure how the game would compare but I love it! Many of the dances I already knew from class. It has been great this winter when I didn't want to get out in the cold to go to class.
  • I love my Zumba for the Wii! I have a heart rate monitor I've worn when I do it and if you put it on here as 'dancing aerobic' it's basically the same calories.

I love my Wii Zumba game ... yesterday I did 45 minutes and burned about 360 calories according to my HRM. The calories burned varies but it's always fun. I love beating my last score and opening up new levels to choose from.

I want the Zumba for the wii, but I heard mixed reviews. Also I am worried that the belt band you wrap around yourself will not fit around me. We used to have the EA sports active game and that comes with a leg strap, but even that barely fit around my leg. And would burst off when I moved..

Hi! I have it too and love it! I agree with @mommyduke3 and the cal burn is very close if not right on to the "dancing aerobic" option.
  • does it come with the belt or do u have to buy that separately?

I LOVE my Zumba for the Wii! Mine came with the belt and I have not had any trouble with the belt coming off during my workouts. I burn anywhere between 300-600 calories depending on how long and which level (beginner, intermediate, expert).

I found it on Friday night at Target and used it Saturday night. It was fun. I didn't have a working HRM then, so I don't know what the calorie burn was.

Interesting little bit of info at this web site ... thanks for sharing that. Sounds pretty close to me :)
  • I'm getting one! Hehe cant wait to try it!

  • Ok, I just tried it out and I'm a little disappointed..the tutorials move along before I got a hang of the move and I got really frustrated with it. I think I'll try it again tomorrow when I'm not tired.. :/ Did anyone else think it was hard at first when you had no idea what you were doing??

I tracked last night with my HRM and only burned about 92 calories in the 20 minutes. Not great, but what I needed to even out my calorie intake for the day.

As for the belt, it fits with a lot of extra room on my almost 43 inch hips.

As for not knowing what to do, I've taken Zumba classes before and I do Jazzercise, so it wasn't hard for me to catch on...I just have an issue with not matching the movements on the beginner cooldown.
  • Tried again and loved it. Still think the tutorials go too fast. I had much more fun just winging it. I know I didn't do all the moves perfectly and I'm sure I looked like a fool but I had fun and my HRM said I burned 155 cals
  • I have gone to many zumba classes and the zumba for Wii repeats the same moves over and over. It needs s little more variety. I guess is fine for those days that you just feel like working out at home.

I have never tried Zumba before.... on land or in water! Do you have to be coordinated to do it? I love my EA Sports 2, and when it comes to the step aerobics part I am all over the place!
  • Thanks for all the info, I think Im going to go buy it tonight! :)
