How Often do you Way Yourself?

I have heard several different answers to this question. I just want PERSONAL reasons as to why you weigh yourself as often/not so often as you do.
I find myself weighing myself daily. It keeps me on track...lets me know if I need to eat less - exercise more - etc.
So, let me hear it.

I don't own a scale at home. We are having a biggest loser contest at work and I weigh here once a week.
Before when I've dieted I used to weigh myself daily and it would affect my mood and what I ate or didn't eat so now I just try to concentrate on exercising, eating healthy and knowing that I am making a change for the long run.0 -
I weigh myself most every day, but I only track it weekly. Day to day fluctuates too much to be meaningful, but weekly seems to give me a better overall picture. IMHO, of course.0

I weigh myself every friday, or second friday after i work out at the gym, I chose to do this because it's the most conveineint and it allows my body time to lose weight, if you weigh yourself daily your weight tends to fluctuate through out the day, right? *i think* and that can get rather discouraging if you go up 2lbs.0

I weigh myself daily, but only track weekly as daily fluctuations for me go from a few ounces up to 2lbs up or down.0

I weigh myself daily, usually twice a day. I guess I'm a little obsessed. I weigh in the morning and I weigh at night so that I know what to expect for the next morning. I don't count the weight as "official" until Friday mornings though.0

i have gotten into a habit of weighing myself everyday. I don't feel so bad doing it because i am not cheating. And when i do cheat my caloires i go over like 200 not 1000, so i am not dreading stepping on the scale.0

I weigh myself one a week on Sundays. When you wait longer, it makes it all worth it at the end of the week. It makes me feel like I have accomplished something. It's hard not to do it through out the week, but I make myself wait until Sunday.

I track my weight once a week, weighing myself right when I wake up on Tuesday morning (don't know why I picked this date, but it works). Occasionally, I'll weigh myself on other days to make sure I'm more of less on track, but Tuesday is the only day that "counts."0

I too weigh myself daily. my scale reads every .2lb difference. So, this help keep me on track and motivated. A .2lb daily loss is very inspiring to me!!0

Have been doing it daily but am trying to cut back. I sound like an addict! Cutting back to twice a week, Tuesday and Friday.0

I weigh myself everyday also. I used to do it twice a day but as my weight does fluctuate as much as 3 pounds throughout the day it can be discouraging. My Sunday AM "weigh ins" as part of a program, are the only ones that count, though.0

Once a week is ideal. I wanted to check my progress and see if I had guessed my meal correctly from Mon night + 2.7 I was so upset. Then I realized I lacked fiber the day before.....when I weigh today I lost 2.1 lbs. But that's not accurate either. Back to Sunday morning for me.0

Like a lot of others, I weigh myself daily (as soon as I get out of bed), but I only track/log it once a week. It personally helps keep me mindful of what I'm eating and exercising. You do have to keep a positive attitude about it and not obsess if the scale moves the wrong way - I just think of it as a daily check up.0

I weigh myself daily, in the morning right after I take a shower and before breakfast! I thought it was too obessive but it sounds like a lot of others do the same thing. I think it helps keep me on track and helps me evaluate what foods make me retain water, don't work well with my body, etc. I wish that a few extra ounces/ pound didn't affect my mood, but it does! The good thing is, it motivates me to do better that day! Over the holidays and through the bad weather we have had lately, I didn't weigh every day and I gained 7 pounds... out of sight, out of mind! (For me anyhow)0

i use to weigh myself every day until i realized that way to many factors go into daily body weight fluctuations and that it was almost pointless. so i weigh myself once a week. usually on Fridays.0

I weigh in the morning before I shower and at night before I go to bed. I log my weight every few days. It can be very frustrating but I've not yet had lo log a gain. Good luck on your weight loss ventures!!!0

I like to weigh every day. You need to do what's best for you. Everybody is different and has different needs.0

Every day. I weigh in at the exact same point in my morning routine, because I want the data. I do a couple of weekly in-boxer-shorts pics, also for the record.
It depends on your mentality, but weighing daily can either be fascinating if you can bear the spikes and don't get too exited at the drops, or potentially discouraging and a threat to your discipline, if you see a 1-2lb upswing and can't keep in mind that this is normal.
I'm somewhere in the middle, leaning toward wanting the data for a hopefully rosy look-back someday. I get the pangs of discouragement, like for example yesterday when I weighed in +1lb., in spite of the fact that I know that fluctuations like that are normal. But in general I keep negativity in check and keep collecting daily weight.
Occasionally I will throw in an "I wonder..." weigh in at an odd time, say, after a lunch or dinner, just to see. I discard this data, it's just to remind myself that there are fluctuations, to see if I can spot any pattern, or just because I am curious.0 -
At the minute I weigh myself every day just to check that im on track (Im aiming to lose 5 stones). If Im not weighing myself its usually because I dont want to face up to the weight I've put on. For me getting weighed frequently is a healthy way to stay on track. It may be obsessive but I need to be obsessive through the 1st few stone at least.0

omg im like obsessed with the scales i weight every am and every pm before bed if i get up and it says ive put on i get all upset about it so i dont know y i do it really but glad im not the only one who does it
but im gonna speak to my partner tonight and ask him to take the scales away from the bathroom and put them back on a thursday am as thats when he weighs me lol
aint got much hope for tomz weigh in as it said this am thats ive stayed the same0 -
Meh, I'm not a slave to the scale. I weigh myself once in a while, could be 7 days could be 17 (like the time my last 2 checks).
I'm not to concerned with the numbers, if I eat right and exercise, I'll lose fat. If i put on 15 lbs but looked leaner and felt more energized, that'd be okay with me. I have a goal weight in mind, but if I get to my goal size I'd be more excited.0 -

I have heard plenty of folks talk about how this is a bad idea because your weight fluctuates, but as long as you remember that a daily weigh in can be a good thing. It can help you see how sodium or any other part of your diet effects your daily weight. For example, ANY time I eat ANY beef I weigh up the next day. And its temporary, but its cool to know.
Also, I'm at a point in my loss now where any loss I have is slow and fluctuations can completely negate them. So I enjoy seeing all of them and getting average. 148.4 after a good few days of healthy, low sodium eating. Two days later, I've lifted weights and eaten too much sodium and BAM - weighing in at almost 150. Temporary, but it would suck if I didn't see it as a part of an overall fluctuating.

Like you, I weigh everyday in order to keep myself motivated or get myself back on track. I only "count" my Monday weights in order to see how much Ive lost over the course of the week. So far, it works for me0
