My daughter has Aeryn from a tv show called Farscape as a middle name.

Am just curious to see how many people on here have done the same.

    My son is named Nathaniel from the main character in Last of the Mohicans. My daughter is named Olivia after the mom on The Waltons.

    My son is named Luke. It started out as a name from the Bible...somewhere in the early nineties it turned into a reference to, you guessed it, Luke Skywalker....

    He has Darth Vader, Yoda, and an imperial storm trooper as covers on his golf clubs.

    Not her official name, I called my daughter Mowgli for years because she was the spitting image of the Disney character. Until one day she mutinied and said, in capitals, "CAN YOU STOP CALLING ME MOWGLI! HE'S A BOY AND I'M A GIRL!"

    I have a Mylie....but I swear it wasn't for Miley Cyrus. I was a grown *kitten* woman when Hannah Montana was popular 7 years ago and had no clue who she was. God help my child when she gets older..maybe people will have forgotten about Miley by then?

    I had a teen crush on Ethan Hawke after Reality Bites

    So I named my son Ethan.

    I now think Ethan Hawke is nasty and probably stinks of burnt coffee, moldy cigarettes and unclean women.


    But my son sure is a doll.

    My daughter's name is Lucille "Lucy" after Lucille Ball. She's also redheaded, which was mostly luck (and recessive genes).

    I have watched The Young and The Restless since I was a kid...when I was pregnant with my daughter my fav character at the time was named Mackenzie...loved the name because I heard it daily and it always struck me as my fave...took me a while to get dad to like it...he of course had some girl he remembered from school way back when that had that name...seriously picking names was hard because of this...eventually he came around...we dropped the E...and she is Mackenzi :) I still love her name and she is 10.

    I have a friend who named his daughter Katniss.

    Knowing him, that was his wife's influence. I'm not sure he would know what the Hunger Games is.

    My middle daughter was named Tara, because my wife is a big fan of "Gone With the Wind."

    My youngest daughter was named Holland, because I liked Holland Taylor's character in "Bosom Buddies."

    I named my son Logan because I liked it from a TV show that was on years ago (that I can't remember the name of). My sister-in-laws brother named his daughter Samara Halen after Van Halen. LOL.

    My oldest son is named Justice after Justus Quartermaine from General Hospital. I changed the spelling but I first heard the name in jr. high and it stuck with me. They eventually "killed him off" and during the month my son was born the show brought him back. He hates it everytime I tell someone when they ask me where I came up with his name.

    Hubby wanted Thor the Virgin Crusher.....

    I have a boy and girl named Michael and Jordan. Partly named after the baskebetball star, and partly cuz I loved the names growing up. Its funny to call them out in public.

    My daughter is named Emma after a grandmother but we joke that she was really named after Emma Watson since my husband and I are huge Harry Potter fans. We joke (ok, half joke) that if we have son we will name him Thomas after Tom Felton.

    Back when I was young there was a character on a soap my mom watched...ok I watched it too...her name was Sierra. When I was pregnant I kept seeing the word and it reminded me of the name. My neighbor drove a sierra truck. Maxwell house came out with a sierra coffee. Sierra leone was in the news. I think it was meant to be.

    Sierra Danielle was born on earth day.

    Lucky my oldest wasnt called Anakin.
