Eggplant... but fried eggplant parm is good.
Artichokes... but spinach and artichoke dip is good.
    Pears... nope. Weird texture/too gritty.

Yeah, I wished I liked hummus. The texture is offputting. Avocado spread isn't bad...but I will def not be eating avocado by itself (Yuck!). Cottage cheese....I just put it in my smoothies. Can't eat that stuff by itself. I love Greek yogurt but I wish it could taste slightly better, that way I wouldn't gag almost everytime I bring myself to eat it plain. I also wish that I loved mushrooms, peppers, and veggie meats. I so wish I could be vegeterian, but I love meat and "veggie" meats are tasteless!

    1. Yogurt - the smell alone makes me gag and I want so badly to eat it
    2. Fish - can't stomach that either

As a vegetarian, I wish I liked salad. I just can't stand any raw vegetable. Makes it difficult to eat out sometimes.

I have found with me that it's not so much the food, but it's how it's prepared for many:

Oatmeal (unless it's in oatmeal cookies or granola)
Carrots (cooked, but I'll eat raw)
    Lima beans (blech)
    Peas (unless I grew them)
    ANY CANNED VEGETABLE
    Spinach (cooked, I'll eat raw)
    Broccoli (raw, I'll eat cooked)
Squash (I'll eat zucchini, but gag at spaghetti squash, acorn squash)
Sweet potato (like it baked as french fries, but FORGET it as a Thanksgiving side)
Bananas (good in banana bread or in a smoothie, but not by themselves)
    watermelon (seedless is fine)
grapes (green is fine, red is not)

Now to the foods I won't touch:

    Mango
    Cottage cheese
Greek yogurt (it may be healthy, but BLECH, BLECH, AND HURL)
    Brazil nuts
    cantaloupe
    honeydew
fennel (gross - I HATE black licorice)
    artichoke
    figs
    okra
    plums in any form
    RICE CAKES

I am 42 years old and STILL to this day remember the worst meal ever when I was about 8 - liver, brussel sprouts and rutabagas. I have even had dreams about it off and on since then. My dad tried to pass of the fried liver and chicken fried steak. Umm, no ... it smells bad! I knew the difference. I took a whooping instead of eating that night. After that though, I was never forced to eat those things again.

Today, I still will not eat them. I also will not eat broccoli, cauliflower, turnips, raw, slimy tomatoes, mustard and turnip greens ... I could go on and on. I did get over my aversion and fear of kale. Found a great recipe that calls for massaging it which breaks down the cell walls, releasing the bitterness. That is the only way I will eat kale now.

I think you and I had the same father. YUCK to the fried liver! You will have to post the "how to massage kale" recipe.
Tried acai berries once. HATED them.

Not a big fan of Kale either.

What I wish I /didn't/ like though is chocolate and pecan pie...except I'm not sure if I'd ever want to give those up.

    Nuts.

As a vegetarian, that'd be really helpful...

I HATE canned tuna. Words cannot describe. I love sashimi tuna and thick slabs of grilled tuna, but canned tuna...especially in tuna salad mayonnaise or whatever the mixture is actually curls my toes.

This..... everything else is fine :D

I used to love spinach and eat it raw, just as a snack. But for some reason, it makes me feel super sick now. It's all right if I mix in a few leaves of it in a salad, but spinach alone just makes me feel awful.

At least I can never get sick of broccoli and carrots, I guess.
