I'm sure this has been asked before, but how often do you weigh in? Daily? Weekly? Just curious!

People say not to but I weigh myself daily. I helps me to keep on track and seeing those .2 pounds lost helps!0

once a week! If you are eating properly and exercising there should be nothing to worry about in between.0

I weigh in daily. It was habit when I went to the gym all the time. Now I'm not going to the gym but I am getting up and working out at home. So I have been weighing myself in the morning.0

I weigh daily but I'm weird like that. I usually only enter my loss when I lost a whole pound.0
-
Definitely weekly- I think daily would be discouraging due to water fluctuation, etc.0

Every morning. It helps me stay focused. If I gain a pound I work harder at the gym, if I lose a pound it makes me feel like counting the calories and keeping up with MFP worth it.0

I want to do it daily but I have decided that weekly should be fine. It gives me something to look forward too. Tomorrow I weigh in and I am so excised.0

MONTHLY.....I think it has helped to stick to it because I see a great loss every time....now that im closer to my goals I will do it every 2 weeks.0

Daily. It helps keep me focussed on what my goals are.0

I do weigh daily but I also know my body better now. I know when I had a lot of sodium or didn't drink as much water or if I did a particularly hard workout that the numbers will be up a little. I don't freak if the scale shows I'm up 2 pounds because there's always a reason for it. I know it's not permanent unless I way overate for weeks at a time.0

Every Saturday. Keeps me motivated so that I don't have the urge to indulge on Fridays (:0

Usually every other day. It drives me mad if I do it daily, but I can't seem to stand doing it once a week. My bf had to take the scale out of the bathroom when I was going all 2-5 times a day crazy with weighing, but if I only do it once, I'm not quite as bad off.0

Daily.
http://www.webmd.com/diet/news/20051118/daily-weigh-in-may-help-dieters-loseWhile most weight loss programs don't encourage the practice, a new study suggests that daily weighing may be better for weight loss and weight control than weekly or less frequent weighing.
People in the study who weighed every day lost more weight or maintained their weight better than people who did not.0 -
Its interesting to read others responces, and the reasoning behind it, personally i weigh in weekly, every monday.0

Im currently hooked watching the Biggest Loser - so I do my weigh ins at the same time!
Watching it gets me motivated and when I hit the scales I'm motivated to carry on regardless of what they say!0 -
I weigh myself everyday. It used to be like... a million times a day, (need to find the spot in the house that I weighed the least) :blushing:0

once a week on friday mornings.
waiting a week makes me behave and I see a bigger loss than if i was doing it daily.
(I'm thinking of doing it every two weeks though)0 -
I know you shouldn't be a slave to the scale, but I weigh myself in the gym 3 days a week - can be pretty frustrating when you don't see the result you expect, but this can often be caused by water retention due to heavy exercise - (I dropped 2 lbs between friday and monday due to this.)0
-
Daily (just to make sure I'm on track), but I only track it on Friday morning 'weigh-ins'.0
-
I don't know about everybody else, but my weight fluctuates so much just throughout the day that if I weighed everyday I would be a basket case. It seem much more accurate when I do it once a week...same day and same time of the day too. That's just me.0

Once a week on Friday mornings. No clothes and after I pee :happy:0

I hop on the scales a couple of times but I only record my weight on one day each week & ignore all the rest of the reults
I'm addicted to the scale but have cut back form twice a day every day to a couple of times a week
Usually I do my weight in at the start of the day0 -
I weight myself daily, at the same time, every morning. I have a routine. I like to do this because I'm still at the point where I am paying attention to my body to LEARN how different changes affect my progress. I note days where I have more sodium or heavy exercise. The next day, I look at the scale result and take note on the outcome. Years ago, it used to drive me crazy if I did that and I 'd be so discouraged it would send me in to an eating binge. NOW I see this as a tool to learn my body and know what works, what doesn't work, what I should eliminate... etc.
I actually only record my weight once a week on MFP. Every Thursday morning.0 -
I weigh in every morning. Of course, I do keep in mind that my weight may fluctuate from day to day and sometimes from hour to hour. I do it every day for 2 reasons.
One, it helps me to stay motivated to eating healthy. I have a range of about 5 lbs that I usually fall into. When I begin creeping out of that range, It's usually because I have been eating too much food.
Two, it helps me to keep my hydration in check. When I am really active, I try and weigh myself before and after a workout to see how much water I need to put back into my body.
I don't fixate on weight either. It's just a tool that one can use to gauge their current health. Nothing more.0
