Manda
How are you feeling today?0 -
I am late but here is something that helps me. Bed and Body Works has a Speariment/Eucalyptus Massage Oil that is wonderful when you have muscle pain. Take a hot bath/shower then have someone rub it one. Makes you sleep soundly and it takes the pain away in about a half hour or so for me. The ibprofin is good too.

The best thing for necks when you do want to use heat, is a rice sock. Fill a long sock with rice, throw it in a microwave for a bit, until hot, and then wrap it around the back of your neck. It is the best because it takes the shape of your neck.....

Hey Manda - How's your neck?0

Thanks everyone
It still hurts today, I still can't turn my head all the way to the left, but I'm doing heat again today, which made it feel better at any rate... I took a shower as hot as I could stand it this morning which relieved some of the stiffness.
I really appreciate all of the advice,I'm going to try alternating hot with cold.0 -
Oh, oh, oh, just thought of something you can try!
I've used those Therapad thingies on my shoulder and back before--you know, the stickie things that have medication in them that is absorbed through your skin. they give a little heat off, too. I absolutely SWEAR by the ICY/HOT ones. Make J go out and buy you some. You can wear it around the house at least. They're fantastic!0 -

Manda,
I would suggest that rather than put heat on it, you ice it and take a pain killer like ibuprofen. Ice it for about 20 minutes at a time. I use to have problems with lots of minor strains and that advice is straight from my DR.
Hope you feel better.0
