I know, totally off subject, but I am looking for opinions on a Kindle case. I am wondering if anyone has opinions on getting a case or a skin? If so, what kind? What are the pros and cons of getting a skin vs. a case?

Any thoughts out there for me? THANKS! :flowerforyou:

I adore my Kindle -- and I looked seriously at the Nook & iPad. I have a case, but I find that I prefer to just slip it into my purse! The case has velcro, which is super annoying. So if you do want some kind of case or skin, just take into consideration how easy you'd like it to be to get the Kindle out (not fun to RIP open Velcro in the middle of a quiet waiting room or whatever).

Also, if you want to be able to put the Kindle in your purse WITH the skin/case on, I'd think the skin would work better since it would be less bulky.

Thanks for your feedback!!! I was thinking about that same thing. I love how I can put it in my purse and not even notice it. But I wanted some opinions because they do make some really nice cases but I think I will go with a skin then! They have some totally ADORABLE skins! And you can easily change them too when you get bored with it! Skin it is!! Thank you. You have been ever so helpful!

I was looking at those ones too and they difinitely are nice but I was trying to imagine myself carrying that thing around all the time. I like the Kindle cuz it is so small. That case would kind of defeat my purpose. Ya know?

I love my kindle and have a slip case that I ordered from Etsy to protect it in my bag. No velcro or anything - you could then have a skin too if you wanted!

i have a kindle and originally had a skin but was constantly worried about scratching the screen if I threw it into my purse or something so I went out and got a case and like it a lot better.

They to have screen protectors too, if you are interesting. But I have read alot of "glare" complaints with them. But UGH! Skin or case? Skin or case? Skin or case? I just don't know. I REALLY like the idea of throwing in my purse wherever I go, so I think I will be sticking with skin.

careful of some of the cases, there's complaints about shorts happening, and I experienced it with mine, it just wouldn't turn on, got it out of it's case, and ever since, haven't haed a problem!

LOVE my Kindle...I have a leather case with an elastic closure band. It's not too bulky and I carry it with me in my purse without worrying about scratching the screen. The cover bends all the way around the back when I'm reading, too, so It's out of the way. Purchased from Amazon.

I'm replying for two reasons one because I just got my kindle and am sooo excited and two I just bought a case it doesn't look bulky and when you open the flap it has clear protective windows so you can leave it in the case if you'd like. I should be getting it in this week I'll let you know how it works out! Good luck and can't wait to see what others have bought!
