Just curious. What would you do with that much money? I can't really even mentally visualize how much money that is!

Waste the vast majority of it probably.

Donate to causes I care about otherwise.

I would give most of it away. You don't need that much money to live comfortably. I would give lots to Japan right now. I would be fine with just 5 million. Pay off bills and mortgage. Buy a new house and car. Of course go travelling too.

Pay off the house. Landscape the back yard like it was a 1-acre resort. Buy a really nice airplane. Travel a LOT more. And probably the requisite expensive sports car.

In the UK tonight we have Comic Relief (for those in the US - this is a telethon hosted by loads of standup comedians and actors). Having watched the films shown of kids dying young with not enough food to eat or suffering from preventable illnesses - I'd keep what I need to have me and my own comfortable and buy malaria nets and food supplies for these kids.

There are a couple people I would make sure were taken care of for the rest of their life.
After that would have places to live around the country where I could hide from anything that resembles winter weather.

put 10% in a savings account...
Hire someone kick *kitten* to invest 30% of it
Split 25% of it between various charities or start a trust
disperse 15% to my family, carefully, with stipulations (it's my lotto money biatches so you all have to spend it on things like college and paying off debt etc!!)
Spend 10 % on frivolous fun things like buying my dad his dream home and a car, myself a car and a few trips, a ridiculous pair of YSL and Louboutin heels... :)

10% on another savings account... you never know when 20.1M will come in handy ;-)

I agree I would help Japan. Pay off mortgages for my family members and mine and purchase a house for those that dont have one. Pay my student loan. Donate to downs syndrome. make savings for my kids so they dont have to worry about student loans the way we have. I think I would build a second floor at my house to make more space for us I dont think I would move.

the 1st thing i would do is take my kids to disney world, the proper one not the one in paris. then i would put a chunk away for their college fund, buy a house put my kids in really good schools, buy my mama a big ol' house with maids. give to charities, set up foundation and blow a big chunk on shopping.
You can tell i have thought about this!!!
  • Make sure all my family are debt-free and set for life. A house for my Aunt. Make sure my grandmother has no money worries ever.
Buy myself a nice apartment in london and a house near my college which i would rent out.
Create bursaries/scholarships in musical/dance theatre to help with the DADA situation.
Give money to charities that actually mean something to me.
THEN, i would seriously hit the shops :P

I would most def help out in Japan and I would commit myself for life to all the homeless animals. spay and neuter prevention will be my thing :) wooo hooo

85% would go to a variety of charities immediately

I would buy a home and land, make improvements in my community, and assist a family in need :)

Pay off my debts, pay off my parents' mortgages, put some money in a trust fund for my siblings' educations (I'm done with college, but none of them are), put money aside for my retirement, future kids' college educations, and to cover any unanticipated crisis', buy a house, and then donate the majority of the rest to various charitable organizations.

10% of it would be given to my church for a tithing first off... then a house, pay off debt, save for child's college and investments... Probabaly give some to help out struggling family, and donate some to charities. That ammount of money is so unfathomable to me tho, but that's what I would do with it!

Hire someone to exercise for me. lol

No seriously, I'd build and open up a gym that caters to children, and adults. Instead of the current system where children under the age of 16 have to go to the daycare room.
I dont know why they cant put jungle gyms, trampolines, aerobics and dance classes, even mini treadmills and ellipticals in the gym. Kids are getting fat at the same rate we are.

Why 201 million? Seems like a random number. But hubby and I have talked about it so much, so here goes...
    1) pay off all debt, including our house
    2) make repairs necessary to sell our house (even if it's at a loss)
    3) build an "off the grid" dream home in Colorado and move
    4) replace our gas-guzzlers with 1 eco-friendly vehicle
    5) set up investments so that we only have to work if we want to (and volunteer instead)
    6) help out family members
    7) travel
    8) donate

    Pay off bills acquired.
    Put 25% in a 401K
10% give to family, daughters, parents, and a few others.
Start a retirement staphling for both my daughters that will draw good interest-Trust Fund.
20% to my choice of charities ( Japan would be my 1st choice right now)
Buy both daughter's a house of their choice and car of their choice-paying 5 yrs in advance for insurance.
Buy myself the house, land of my dreams, the horses I want to have, and me a new truck and car.
Horse Camp for Theraputic Care for the handicap and mental disabilities.
Start a Horse Rescue Unit- where they can be brought and cared for and loved, till they take that last ride off into the sunset..

Wow... if dreams could come true...

I am a pretty simple guy so I would just make sure my family was comfortable for the rest of our lives. I am not flashy so no big cars or nothign liek that. I would sow half of it into programs for abused kids and programs to help single parents. I can say from experience it is not easy beign both parents to a your kids while trying to hold down a job and still be involved in everything they do. I would def want to help fund programs that made that easier.

Clear my mortgage and bills, clear my brothers mortgage and bills. Keep about $1 million for myself to cover for "unforeseen circumstances" and then invest the remainder in a Charitable Trust to ensure an annual donation to numerous charities that are close to my heart.

I'd put half in bonds, then buy a house.

With the rest, I'd start an IndyCar team and win the Indy 500!
