    Your progess was still the same. Your bodyfat is still the same.

    So the ritual seems dumb. Not to mention all the reasons you should avoid coffee if you're serious about health/nutrition.

    If I get on the scale right after getting up, I weigh about 1 lb more than if I wait a half hour, shower or not.

    Humans need rituals, especially when what they're doing is boring as all hell, like following an "eating regime" (note I did not use the D word).

    All hail the routine... erm... ritual. It gets you there!

    You guys are hilarious. I am not a daily pooper, unfortunately, but I do know that having a BM has great significance on that scale.

    Not daily? That's not good! You should analyze the amount of fiber in your diet and make sure you are eating the right things. Get things moving! :)

    I agree somewhat... as long as what you do is consistent, it doesn't really matter. It's about tracking progress week to week...

    Because my goal is to look sexy naked.

    Clothes can hide and disguise many things... and different clothes weigh different amounts and will effect your trending, which is actually most important. It doesn't matter if your scale is off by 5 lbs as long as it's moving, week by week, in the direction you want.

    Actually, you don't have to have a bowel movement every day. Some people are every day, multiple times a day, every two days...at least, that is what my teacher at school [nursing school, she's a RN, BSN...and like 7 more haha] said.

    I usually have afternoon BM's, so I don't do this. I do however go pee, and weigh naked when I wake up. :)
