i make tilapia and orange roughy all the time.... i spray pam in the bottom of a baking dish, place fish in dish. sprinkle with lawry seasoning salt and fresh ground black pepper..slice up either a half lemon or orange place slices on fish and drizzle a little orange juice over fish(i use tropicana trop 50,lower calorie) bake at 350 degrees till fish flakes easily with fork(20-25 min)tastes amazing!
i also make a dish that you can use either tilapia or orange roughy or boneless skinless chicken breasts in... i slice zucchini and squash ..drizzle olive oil and season with either italian seasoning or fresh basil or whatever seasoning you prefer and then place either fish or chicken over and slice grape or cherry tomatoes in half and add more seasoning and bake 350 degrees..

had it last night.
use pam on your skillet, then season the fish (thawed) with your desired seasonings, and cook in skillet over medium to high heat until it's "flaky" white. flip it ever 3-5 min or so.. just watch it. i usually have to add more pam. i like to squeeze lemon juice over it while it's cooking. YUM.
i have also heard it cooks in microwave pretty well and you can broil it too.
this. i love it in the skillet with some 0 cal butter and a little lemon.
serve with some rice.0 -
oh!! i almost forgot... i also sprinkle either taco or fajita seasoning on it and grill and make fish tacos....soft shell tacos....or wheat fajitas... grilled zucchini.. peppers onions mushrooms.. fresh salsa...ff sour cream... avacado..... mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm0

I love tilapia, you pretty much can't go wrong no matter how you make it. For me, I'm a simple guy, so I squeeze fresh lime juice on it and add some cilantro. Cover in foil, put on the grill. Simple, tasty.0

Well, if you were thinking of going to your local mega-mart and picking up a package of "sewage tilapia", I'd see your point, but... pond-raised tilapia from the U.S. are certainly not garbage fish...!0 -
I spray olive oil on tilipia and then season it with powdered garlic smoked pepper and put a tsp of minced christopoher ranch garlic. Then I finish it with a squeeze of lemon. On the side I slice red onions and bake it. Its good because the onions taste sweet and compliments the fish. Mrs Dash seasonings are also good.0

Broiled Tilapia Parmesan

Original Recipe Yield 8 servings
Ingredients
1/2 cup Parmesan cheese
1/4 cup butter, softened
3 tablespoons mayonnaise
2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
1/4 teaspoon dried basil
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
1/8 teaspoon onion powder
1/8 teaspoon celery salt
2 pounds tilapia fillets
Directions
1.Preheat your oven's broiler. Grease a broiling pan or line pan with aluminum foil.
2.In a small bowl, mix together the Parmesan cheese, butter, mayonnaise and lemon juice. Season with dried basil, pepper, onion powder and celery salt. Mix well and set aside.
3.Arrange fillets in a single layer on the prepared pan. Broil a few inches from the heat for 2 to 3 minutes. Flip the fillets over and broil for a couple more minutes. Remove the fillets from the oven and cover them with the Parmesan cheese mixture on the top side. Broil for 2 more minutes or until the topping is browned and fish flakes easily with a fork. Be careful not to over cook the fish.

Cake girl, all you gotta do is get some olivia spray, hit the frying pan with the spray..... season the fish on both sides as generously as you want with some mc cormick lemon pepper seasoning and there you go cook both sides till the way you like it0

I have a Rosemary/garlic seasoning that I sprinkle on talipia that I very lightly brushed with olive oil....put it on a baking sheet that has been sprayed with cooking spray and bake at 350 for 15-20 minutes until the fish flakes easily0

Agreed. My cousin raises commrercial tilapia. They are well fed, not sewage fish.0 -
You can marinate it for a few hours and grill it on the BBQ or you can just cook it in a saute pan. I make it once or twice a week and it's delicious!!! I get a marinade at Fresh and Easy that is cheap but very tasty and low is calories, fat, etc. Good luck!:happy:0
