So, they're not saying it actually *heightens* the metabolism (maybe the collective "we" have just been assuming that'swhat they've meant) -- but rather they're saying it simply keep us from overeating?

basically yes, no physical changes, just mental and trigger changes.

Ah, so great to read this and feel like I have some questions answered.

    Thanks! :)
  • Those ones about cheat meals and huge weight gain over night really helped, cause last night I had a cheat meal for the first time in months and suddenly gained 5 pounds when I woke up. Glad to hear it isn't permanent, thanks!

    Great info! Thanks!
  • #10 You can also loose or gain 5 lbs in day if the scale is caught on the wood trim in the bathroom.
It happened to me once. I could not figure out why I gained 5 lbs in one day. Then realized when I stepped on the scale it was catching on the wood trim, :)

While I like the of making this a sticky/tab/homepage thing, I think it would be even MORE useful simply to have a search engine for the forums. Then you could easily search for questions that have already been asked, or recipes with chicken, or stuff like that...

there is a search engine. At the top of the forums, one of the options is Search. Though it's not all that intuitive. It works ok.

In defense of the newbs -- whenever I search anything on the forums, my most resent results are at least 4 months old. Granted, most of what you posted wouldn't even require a "search", just scanning one or two pages back.

Thanks for the info -- as always, great stuff.

I really like #10 and your explanation.... as simple as it is, it's one of those things people tend to overlook while focusing on the big picture. I know 16 oz is a pound and I drink 8 of these daily, but It never occured to me that it could be the culprit of the some of the flux in my weight, well that and sodium... thank you for a great post and pointing out common sense answers.

edited for spelling before the keyboard commando's get me...lol:laugh:
