30-Day Shred for November

I just ran across the street to the big bookstore and picked up the shred DVD--I'm so excited to start it tonight! But how do y'all log in the calories burned under the exercise tab on this website? Thanks!
I logged it as Circuit Training, and do have an HRM:
5'8" 150 = 245 cal. burned for 27 minutes.
Hope this helps a little.0 -

I Shredded yesterday and today. I am doing level 1 but I think I am almost ready to move to level 2...hopefully later this week!
Hope everyone is enjoying this challenge! :flowerforyou:0 -
ok got a question:
I was going to do this 5 days a week, m-f, but after talking w/ my fiance, he said that if i'm working my muscles out sooo much i really need a day inbetween for them to "heal". And you know i'm thinking he's right, b/c the last two times i've done L1 i have been really sore the next day. which is great, don't get me wrong, but i'm thinking that to continue to work those same muscles w/o a break inbetween really isn't going to do anything but hurt me in the long run.
So what do you guys think??? I know there's cardio in there too, but really, must of it is strength, and i've always heard you need to do strength training every other day to re-coop your muscles. So i'm confused now, do i do it everyday and forget what most people say about a break, or do it everyother, which will take me longer, but will be better for my body? hopefully some of you will know the answer!
Thanks, Laura0 -
I've been wondering the same thing, Laura. I've done it 3 days in a row and my muscles (especially my legs) are aching. But Jillian says do it everyday--I don't know who or what to believe. I guess you have to listen to your body and if it gets to be too much, then take a day off.
I'd like to hear from people who've completed a months worth--did you really do it for 30 days straight?0 -
So today was my first day and I actually really like the dvd. It definitely gave me a workout and my arms feel like jello now. Only 29 more days! I can't wait to see what everyone's results turn out to be.0

I am starting a little late, but it should arrive today or tomorrow!0
-
I want to join too. I'm just starting level 3 and can't wait until I can make it through it in one piece.0

Wow, Kate! How long have you been doing the first 2 levels?0 -
I have been doing it for a while. I think I did Level 1 for a week and then level 2 until I could make it through without feeling drained afterwards.0

Hi! Is it too late for me to start too? I had the DVD for a few days, but I am stubborn about changing routines, so I continued to do just elliptical. Problem is, my body is too used to that and I need to switch it up and start getting some strength training in.....so today, I did level 2 of that DVD and it almost killed me! I just thought I was in shape. I think I'll just aim for 3 days a week with this and the rest elliptical0

I am shredding since you all were talking about it so much, and I can't say thank you enough, I had hit a plateau, and this is just what I need to get off this last extra pounds THANK YOU AGAIN LADIES!!!0
-
Just ordered it online today I should get it sometime by the middle of next week which is great because my HRM will be in then too- I cant wait0
-
How is everyone doing with the shredding? I just finished day 4 and I don't think I am quite ready to move to level 2 yet but maybe after a week to 10 days. I hope everyone is working hard and enjoying the dvd! :happy:0

I finished day 6 this morning! LOVE IT! Still one level 1 and might do so for the entire month. The arm strengthing exercises are still really hard for me, so I think I won't push myself too soon.0

Hi ya'll-
Just finished w/ Day 5 Level 1(exept it's taken me 2 weeks. I was going to do it every other day, but decided i needed a good kick in the butt and now am going to shoot for 6 days/week, but might only do 5, we'll see how it goes.) And i love it so far. i can really see some changes, not in my body, but my endurance. so that's good. As soon as I can do all the arm movements then i'll switch to Level 2, I think in about a week or so.
Anyway, good luck to everyone and keep it up!

Sorry I just saw your message, or I would have answered it sooner. I did for all but 2 days in Sept. I was sore for the first few days, like it hurt to sit, but then I was fine. L1 got less challenging and I moved to L2. Now, I never did make it to L3, but maybe this month I will. Keep with it, it gets easier and you will not always be this sore!:flowerforyou:0 -

yes, thanks again! I've decided that i'm just going to go ahead and do it 5-6 days a week, i think my body might need the extra kick. And i finally have gotten less sore:grumble: but the more i do it the more i find i don't get as sore. i think i'll move on to Level 2 after next week, we'll see though.0 -
hey, where is everyone????
i'm still going, this week is the week to do the video all week (well at least 5 days).
Come on ya'll keep it up!0 -
I did level 2 this morning, but had to use the modifications.....it took everything I had to talk myself into it, but I DID IT0
-
I've heard a lot about 30 day shred and want to try it here in the near future.0

I'm a little late joining in as I have been not doing great with diet/exercise the past couple of weeks but am feeling very motivated now as I need to lose some weight before a fancy Christmas party at the end of November.
I am going to try to Shred every day for the next month. I found level 1 too easy and level 2 too hard!!! My son wanted me to do Level 3 yesterday and it actually wasn't much harder than level 2 but it is still very hard. My kids like to join in with me and my twin daughters use salad utensils as their weights!
Anyways...I have only done Shred about 4 times so am now committing to every day!!

Good morning everyone! Today will be day 2 of level 2 for me. I completed my 10 days of level 1 and was happy to move on, but whoa is it hard! I am having to modify like crazy and today my lower back is hurting me because of all the plank exercises. I might be on level 2 for longer than 10 days!0

Looking for ideas. I can't shred. I'm supposed to walk on crutches all the time. Doctor says NO impact - not low impact but none. I'm not even supposed to walk. The guy offered me my choice of crutches, canes or a walker. Give me a break!
So, you all have been doing this video and know whatt it's about. I can't do jumping jack or jump ropes. I can do the punches while in a squat position. And other suggested modifications?
I've biked and elipticalled already and to be honest, (don't tell the doctor), when I'm done, I hurt and that's not good. Going too hard too fast which caused my injuries in the first place. The video is a good idea because I can't go too hard or too fast unless I do all 3 levels in one setting - NOT!
Any ideas would be appreciated.0 -
Ok, all this talk of shredding talked me into buying the video. Our walmart had it for 9$ So, I'm late joining, but I'm going to shred it up tonight! Woohoo!!
