I HAVE body dismorphic disorder and I wouldn't wish it on anyone. I had it at 145 and at 245. I am now 188 and it's reared it's ugly head again. Please, please, hon, you look awesome! You have a PERFECT body!! And if you think you don't, PLEASE get some counseling!! You could go from body dismorphic disorder to anorexia and that would be bad. I know how you feel. It sucks to truly NOT know how you look!!0

I agree that you would tone up with some strength training and build some lean muscle. And to clarify I am not telling you to tone because you look chubby, you don't, you look fine. But if you want to tighten and strengthen it could help you with your self image and feeling more confident.i know I prefer muscle, but everyone is diffierent. If I were your size, I would be done. you look thin!0

P.S.
When I was 22 and 5'5" it was TORTURE for me to maintain 125 lbs. I worked hard at it one summer, but just keep it up.
(I'm amazed you can manage 133 at 5' 8.5"
So, in the end I decided 130 and I live I enjoyed was an acceptable trade off.... Also turns out I wasn't done growing at 22 I grew another TWO INCHES... who'd a thunk it?0 -
I want a body like yours!0

Just curious as to why you have this post going twice with two different names?
http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/218893-i-feel-like-i-look-so-much-bigger-than-other-women-my-age-h
I'm sorry! I wanted to change the topic title since the first one was too long, and then couldn't figure out how to delete the first one!0 -
I don't know how else to say it, so I am saying I am sorry in advance.
You have obviously done the work to get fit, it shows in your pictures.
However, the work you haven't done shows in your forum post:
"So, I ask everyone in the myfitnesspal community to please tell me how heavy I look in pictures, and what areas of my body could use some toning. I know this all must sound incredibly self-absorbed, and for that I truly apologize. I just want to be proud of my body and the hard work it took to get there, but I can’t seem to get over my negative self-image."
What other people think will not be able to make you feel better until you think it too. No amount of eating right, calorie counting, working out and weight loss can overcome the negative self-image in your mind.
Even though you think you may not need it, find a therapist or counselor to talk to. What can it hurt? Right?0 -
You really look awesome! Sometimes it just helps to be told that... and by people that aren't biased. Just keep doing what you are doing. Work on toning up, etc if you aren't totally happy. This journey is ultimately between you and your body. It's about the way you feel and not what other people tell you. You need to be comfortable in your own skin. So, work to get there and be proud of your accomplishments. And know that there are lots of people who think you are beautiful!0

You look absolutely beautiful and have a figure lots of people myself included would love to have.
I agree with others that you have to work on your self image. Often I think this improves as we age. I'm nearly 32 and remember not liking what I seen in the mirror when I was around 21,22. Now post baby and with stretchmarks and a joey pouch (saggy tummy) I'm kinder to myself. I still think I need to improve myself but I dont look at others bodies as my point of reference.
Years ago there was a song out called 'Wear Sunscreen' by Baz Lurmahn, here is a lyric from it that I've certainly found to be true
"Enjoy the power and beauty of your youth. Oh, nevermind, you won't understand the power and
beauty of your youth until they've faded, but trust me in 20 years, you'll look back at photos of
yourself and recall in a way you can't grasp now how much possibility lay before you and how fabulous
you really looked. You are not as fat as you imagine. "
You have a lovely body, keep telling yourself it till you believe it :happy:0 -
Thanks so much for the advice! I have been a vegetarian since I was six, so eating lean protein can be pretty difficult when I don't like tofu! But yes, I absolutely agree that I should do more core exercises. Thank you again!!!
Since you are vegetarien, try protein shakes instead. Make them with soy milk for extra protein0 -
OMG! You have the perfect body in my opinion! You have curves where you should and there is no over lap on your bathing suit! You look beautiful! You should be very proud of your work! But if you.re not happy you can go for a more muscular look and tone more but honestly again, IN MY OPINION, you don't need too! Congrats on your achievement!0

I have the BEST recipe for a shake I have every day. It is so satisfying and really good too! I use 1.5 cups of light vanilla soy milk, 1 cup of frozen strawberries, 1 frozen banana, and half a scoop of slim-fast french vanilla powder. It results in a huge shake that is to die for! Just make sure to defrost the bananas and strawberries in the microwave for 30 seconds to make the blender blades last longer. Enjoy!0 -
You look lean, healthy and gorgeous!
I think if you lost much more weight, you wouldn't look as healthy. I agree with maintaining your current weight and just work on tweaking things a little if you want more muscle tone.0 -
the day i look like u, i will be happy0
-
you look fantastic! Not a single lovehandle or roll, no cottage cheese thighs - nothing! I agree that you might be feeling unhappy because you lack the definition that some people have...but I also think you have a problem that a LOT of women have. We don't see ourselves as we really are (an extreme case would be body dysmorphic disorder but its basically the same). Maybe what you REALLY need to do is compliment yourself in the mirror, fake it until you make it. You need to see yourself as gorgeous because you are.
I agree with snookemz, compliment yourself more often. Everyone's body IS different; we each carry our own beauty. Find your beauty and embrace it.0 -
You look awesome! I'd give anything to be your size0
-
I think you look great, too! I'm the same height as you, and my goal weight is 5 pounds heavier than your starting weight...... Must be those different body types you talked about! I would maybe recommend toning (if you're not already doing it). That'll tighten things up even more, give you more definition, but wouldn't necessarily take your weight down any more. I think you look great!0
-
Listen to the numbers, you ARE the ideal weight for your height. Don't listen to your head telling you that you have problem areas. If you want to tone to look ripped, then tone to look ripped, but don't diet.
I have MFP set to gain so that I can tone and get in shape. Being under your ideal weight does not make you look better, it can cause osteoporosis, weaken your immune system, gives you bad skin, and makes you look sick. Stick to the weight you are.
If you think you need to lose, I would see a doctor.0 -
You look great!!! If I had a body like that, I'd be a happy girl. I know how you feel about having a negative body image, I struggle with that as well. However the change needs to start inside yourself. Sounds to me like you need to do some positive self talk and take compliments without putting a negative spin on them. It's sometimes heard to do but it WILL change how you view yourself. Good luck and remember that you look great, you worked hard, and you're awesome!0
-
i think you look fantastic! you have curves in all the right places and you have a beautiful figure!!!0
-
Honesty you look darn good. No wonder your boyfriend says you look great you do! I dont think you look too skinny at all i would say you have a healthy body.. I wish the stupid celebrity could see your body and go for that look instead of rail-thin look. Maybe if anything and I am grasping for straws you could perk up your butt and thighs a tiny bit. You would get there fast How toned do you want to get?0
-
You look amazing. Seriously. You have a gorgeous body. You should be proud of your accomplishments. I know how you feel though. But I think what is important is to not compare yourself with everyone. I do that too and in the end it's just counter productive.0
-
To repeat what pretty much everyone else has said, you look fantastic. You have womanly curves, which you should flaunt. You do not look "big" in any way!
I"m sure you have some self-esteem issues if you are thinking you look big. That's what you have to work on right now. As others have suggested, maybe do some toning, for a little muscle definition.
Don't compare yourself to others, you are you and you should be proud of yourself and how you look! You're GORGEOUS!!!:flowerforyou:0 -
you look lovely. Slim but not too skinny, lovely curves, great skin, no cellulite. fab0
-
You look great. I have not read all the other posts, but I agree the issue is not really weight loss for you anymore. If you are unhappy with your toning and definition you need to get doing strength training and look more to a maintenance level of calories so you can build some muscle and burn off some of the remaining fat.0
-
You look great!!!
If you feel you don't look as great as you want, it isn't your weight. It has to do with toning and lean muscle. Start intaking more protein and doing more core exercises to tone your tummy. Guarantee you will be happier!
[/quote
I Totally Agree Cause you look great Toning is the answer not losing weight!!! Maintain and Tone0 -
SMH, you are not "big". You look fine, just do some overall toning. Good job on your weightloss and dedication to a healthy you. All the best.0
-
if thats BIG i must be GIANTIC. you look amazing. i would be so happy to have your body!0
-
You look just right. Start believing it! Keep what you have, you are a lovely person, I wish I looked as nice.0
-
I would give anything to have a body like yours! Honestly, you look beautiful.
Please be aware that how you see yourself isn't how others see you!0
