Since next Sunday is Easter, I thought Id put up an easter graphic this week. I hope everyone has a beautiful Easter.. :)

Where are you with your walking Challenge.. I havent met the 100 miles. My knee has been giving me fits over the past week. It seems to have a mind of its own.. :(

Challenge 1 - Week 10
(04/17) - Pilates (pronounced: puh-lah-teez) improves mental and physical well-being, increases flexibility, and strengthens muscles through controlled movements done as mat exercises or with equipment to tone and strengthen the body. (give pilates a try, I realize it isn't for everyone) get on youtube and search pilates videos, or if you have OnDemand, go under free pass, then sports and fitness, fitness tv, and youll find some pilates. :)

Challenge 2 - Week 10
(04/17) - Lets throw in some lower and upper body exercise. Lets try some boxing.. Front kick: Stand with feet shoulders' width apart. Bend your knees slightly, and pull your right knee up toward your chest. Point your knee in the direction of an imaginary target. Then, kick out with the ball of your foot. Repeat with your other leg. Throw some punches in with the kicks to get upper body movement.

Challenge 3 - Week 10
(04/17) - Walk, Jog, Run, Ride, ect 7 miles this week. We are coming up towards the end of our walking challenge. Maybe this will help push some of us that are struggling.

Challenge 4 - Week 10
(04/17) - Add some color to your diet, if you keep it kind of bland. Find a way to brighten it up. Greens, Yellows, Oranges, Reds.. ect.. & drink atleast 8 glasses of water a day.

Challenge 5 - Week 10
(04/17) - I want you to think of three positive things each day this week. Along with that, I want you to think of three things you are grateful for. I want us to remember the reasons we are here.

Quote of the Week - “What you leave behind is not what is engraved in stone monuments, but what is woven into the lives of others.” - Pericles

For this weeks challenges.. I went through the old challenges and chose a few that I thought we could re-do. Maybe we can do it with more strength this time. I hope everyone enjoys this week.. Enjoy your easter next Sunday. We need to come up with ideas for the 4th of July challenge so that we can vote.. So, please post your ideas..

Until next week - April Val

Let's show 'em what we're made of - which is hopefully less than we were made of when we started!!!

I had a great charity walk today, which when combined with my beach association flyer delivery puts me at 101M walked.....YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Plus I went shopping yesterday and am officially down another size (going to work on toning my arms over the next few weeks since all of my new 1x tops are a little tight on the arms (what is with all the arms having buttons and crap on them now????)

I have company coming next weekend so it's going to be a big cleaning week for me. Hopefully I'll be able to get back into the 220s for next week so that I can meet my 1 year goal of 65lbs lost!!!

April - beautiful pictures as always- btw I think $250 is way way to low for a wedding- perhaps $250 and they have to pay for the prints on top of that?- try to find out what other photographers in your area charge and use it as your guideline

Such a busy week last week, so I didn't get on here much, but I stuck to my guns. I was down to 178 this morning, so that's a pound loss for this week.

    Great challenges, April! :flowerforyou:

Hope everyone has a wonderful Monday!!!

I am in the exact same predicament! I've been doing really well with working out 5-6 days a week, eating well, staying hydrated, etc, and I can't seem to keep it off. Every time I get down to 231 or 230, the scale jumps back up to 234 or whatever for no apparent reason! It's SO FRUSTRATING!

For the challenge overall, I've done OK. I haven't really lost any weight, maybe 3 lbs or so. I have been losing inches as is evident by my ever shrinking amount of pants that fit. BUT not seeing the scale move is really frustrating, especially since I have been working so hard since NOVEMBER and have lost 20 lbs (give or take depending on the day) despite my best efforts to have lost about twice that by now.

The 100 miles challenge I am actually catching up on! I was worried there for a while that I wasn't going to make it, but a few really active weeks have put me up to just under 95 miles! I'll be able to go above and beyond 100 by Sunday so YAY! for that!

I'm ready and excited for the next round. Can't keep a girl down, I guess, even if you can't get her into the 220s either. :grumble:

Thx April for putting together this final challenge! Good selection of challenges... I still just LOVE the "3 things" challenge  Today, I'd have to say my hubby is who I'm most thankful for... I could go on and on, but he is so supportive in this journey and words just can't explain how lucky I am... *swoon* I will list him for number 2 & 3, too!

I love the pics April! Agreed that you could charge more, too... I think I paid $400 for some CRAPPY pics and just a disc that FINALLY showed-up 3 months late :grumble: And she didn't even edit them!!! I'd pay twice that and wait even longer for pictures of your quality

SUPER nervous to check the scale on Sunday... I had a craptastic weekend, so I'm hoping I didn't destroy all the hard work I've put in during my scale-diet!!! Liquid lunches will do that...:drinker:...

Did we ever decide on the next challenge name? I forget what names were thrown out there, but I remember liking the idea to go until the 4th! Good luck this week y'all--kick some booty in the final stretch! :flowerforyou:

I forgot to list my 3 positive things for today.

    *It's not raining!
*It's a beautiful day and the kids can be outside all day - except for the babies who need their nap.
*I lost a pound this week!

I'm excited about the new challenge, too. I have been thinking of names, but I'm sure not very good at stuff like that. I like the ideas that were thrown out there.

Keep your chins up, Ladies!!! You are all doing GREAT!!!! :flowerforyou:

Hi all! this week I'm at 172.2, down 1lb from last week. I was MIA last week and I'm amazed I lost anything at all. It's getting down to finals week at school, and I've been swamped with papers, projects, presentations, and exams. Anyways... this next week will be all about getting back on track. I've gotten almost to this weight before - but don't remember the last time I was 172. Middle school probably!! I have to make SURE that I keep going this time... not just be satisfied with a job half done. I want to go all the way to a healthy weight!

I'll try to do some pilates and extra upper and lower body exercises, but my real goal this week is just to work out period. I've been off track with that.

More colorful diet: I have tons of fruit in the fridge right now: cantalope, lemons, oranges, apples, bananas, strawberries... and lots of veggies: red and green peppers, carrots, onions, broccoli, green beans, lettuce... etc. So I have to use them this week so they won't go bad - hopefully they'll show up a lot in my food diary.

Three positives: Even though it's snowing, spring is on the way... I LOVE that I'm able to wear smaller clothes than ever before, and I'm happy that I can finally see the difference in myself.

Weigh cool on the weight loss ( pun intended) I clearly recall weighing 187lbs the summer between 7th and 8th grade- I lost 10 pounds then and entered 8th grade 177- I weighted less than that between 11th and 12th grade but only thanks to a protein diet- which put me in the hospital- I am glad to hear that you have the determination to stick with your healthy new lifestyle and I know that we all intend to join you on this journey!

Ok everyone- I apologize for this but I need to have a little bragging me dance ;-) when I started this challenge I wasn't sure that I would be able to get to 100miles- especially starting a week late- by saturday this week I intend to reach 150miles (if all goes well fingers crossed) - I still don't enjoy walking or exercise but I do enjoy that today as tough as 6+ miles was it was still easier than 2 miles just 2 months ago!!

Wow, I had a fun but naughty weekend!!! It was my birthday on Friday and I did really great that day, but Saturday was a drunkfest of epic proportions!!!! I don't normally drink more than 1-2 now and then... so nine martinis later... yup, you guessed it!!! Hangover!!!!! Anyway, I didn't run, didn't hit the gym, didn't do a damn thing on Sunday... but I feel fine today so I'm back on track. I haven't taken a day "off" like that in a long time... since before I got into MFP!!!! It was fun, but I won't be doing that again soon.

Anyway, since I weighed in on Thursday, I'll use that weight of 149!!! That's down like 12.8 pounds since we started!!! Much more than I expected, and I even finished the 100 miles last week! I should be quite a bit over, but had a couple little set-backs, but I'm back on track now. I have so much more confidence. When we started I wasn't sure I was going to be able to finish my 10k, but now that it's only a couple weeks away I just know I'm going to kill it! Maybe even get a decent time!!!! Whatever, the goal is still to finish and I will make myself proud.

Keep it up, girls... this group has been such an encouragement to me! Proud to say I'm even inspiring people in my life to try and get fit... that just makes my day! It's not easy, but it's achievable... and I believe in myself enough to make it happen! Ok, that's it... I'm getting sappy... Thanks girls!!! See you tomorrow!!!!

Trying to get my head back into the game ladies. My knee is still kinda tight. Going to try to do some walking on mom's treadmill this week to see if it will help loosen it up a little bit. Thats the only down side. I have to still give it my all..

JeninBelgium - HUGE congratulations on the 150 miles.  WOW!!! You did GREAT!

Nikstergirl - happy belated birthday! :flowerforyou: Glad you're back on track!

April - Don't give up! Do your best and leave the rest for another time.

    My three thankful things:
*I have a roof over my head - otherwise I'd be soaked.
    *My house is clean
*I have a great family that loves me.

Since I didn't get my P90X in yesterday, we had to mow and clean up the place we mow - about 10 acres  I'm going to try to do double today (yesterday and today's workout) so wish me luck.

Keep it up, Ladies!!!!!! We're ALMOST to Easter!!! :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou:

"And I'm BACK in the game!"!!!!! One of my favorite lines from a silly movie... but that's how I feel today!

Yes, I let this weekend knock me out, but I've learned from it. Not beating myself up about it, but moving forward! Had a meeting for son's school after work, then hit the gym for my 2 miles since the weather has decided it's not really April yet. I'm so ready for some serious spring/summer weather... but I guess I have to be patient!!! Not my strong suit.

So yesterday I bumped up my calorie goal. I'd been toying with the idea and decided I'd rather lose slower and feel better than starve!!!! I only pushed it up to 1300 instead of 1270, but even the visual of that 1300 is doing wonders for my mindset! I ran enough for a piece of leftover birthday cake tonight and I plan on enjoying every bite!!!!

Hope you all have a great week... I'm looking forward to the next adventure!!! Oh, and I think I'm going to ask to have my body fat % measured again... I would love to see just how much more fit I am in four months!!!!

TIME TO VOTE for the next Challenge name..

    H20 Exploding those pounds...

H20 Not gaining pounds....gaining our independence.

H20 Sizzling Hot Bodies of Summer....

    H20 Independence by weight loss

Cast your vote.. I'll tally them up at the end of the week. The one with the most votes wins.. Any other ideas please post them ASAP.

What do we want the challenge to be to go the duration of the challenge?

Another 100 miles "walk', or Ride bike?

100 hours of a certain exercise? ideas please..
