Surviving Halloween

For some reason suddenly I turned into a food zombie a little bit ago. It became very clear to me that every piece of chocolate existing in my apartment needed to be eaten. I've come back to my senses finally and I thought I'd feel super guilty about it but I don't.
Chocolate is delicious and wonderful and I think it should be allowed on Halloween.
I hope everyone gets to enjoy a guilt-free sugar high too. Just for today!

I'm the candy giver this year and am currently sitting next to a pretty large selection of chocolate treats. I can go months without candy bars but if someone puts a selection of miniatures in front of me they might lose a hand in my haste to get some. So far I've only stolen two and I don't feel guilty, ask me at the end of the night when the supply is dwindling...0

out of curiosity what are you handing out for treats that are not sugar?

I am not only a food adict but a chocoholic ....rediculous to some...but everyone has an addiction..weather its chocolate, sports,tv,potatoes chips,fb,movies, video games.,exercise etc.....I have gone to my husband's AA meetings n find that most of them turn to amother addiction (cigarettes)--I find it hypocritical....but if im going...to break down in an addiction...I preffer chocolate... yummmy..0

Oh, tonight isnt my problem. Trick or treaters dont come to my house anyways for some reason (I guess they learned that the previous people at this house dont have candy...)
Tomorrow is going to be the problem when I go shopping and the candy is all on sale. I told myself I can buy ONE bag of fun size twix and have one or two a day...0 -
This is the first year I remember that I haven't bought any candy corn. Because I will eat half a bag at a time. No moderation at all.0

Staying in and watching Frankinweenie. I don't like chocolate....0

I haven't eaten much all day knowing I'd be having some candy tonight. I know I'll go way over my limit on carbs, but calorie-wise I should be OK. If I do go over, it still won't matter much over the course of the whole week. One bad day out of a week or two is really no big deal, but a few days can end up being a disaster.
I do low carb cycles and do a high carb re-feed day every week or two, so today is my high carb day. Tomorrow is back to lower carbs again and definitely getting a good workout in.0 -

I took that into consideration and budgeted my calories so that I could gorge on candy guilt-free...
turns out I still feel pretty guilty about it0 -

Yeah, I decided to take the Oatmeal route for tonight.
Did an hour of crazy intense Elliptical machine workout and insanity and then went and bought reeses!0 -
Amazing how just 1 week apart the same person creates a thread about the awesomeness of Atkins and how easy it is to do now a we love candy let's eat all of it. You've come a long way in such little time.
You're still a sarcastic jerk who adds nothing to the many threads he lurks around!
I can be on the Atkins and be allowed Halloween candy for a day.
Go be obnoxious somewhere else.-3 -
You can't survive halloween when we're already dead.0

Wow. This thread actually awarded me some hate mail.0

I heartily agree, chocolate is a fabulous invention! I adore it. I would have eaten more had I not had mulled cider which put me over my calories for the day!0

It's dumping huge massive rain here, so I'm going to have a lot of candy leftover...

The Power Ranger who got a whole shopping bag full of candy was speechless! It was so cute! His dad laughed.
Poor kid couldn't carry his bag after that.
But it's out of my house, which was necessary.0 -

That is so cool. We actually tried to do something like that on purpose (bought 1 big bag to give to one poor kid who had to trick or treat on their own - usually we have one like that) and I think it was way too cold so we had a few big groups and that was it. So not only do we have all the regular left overs we have the special bag left too (every time we try it we don't get a kid like this, and when we don't we get a couple that would be perfect - I think we are jinxed). That kid is going to be back to your place next year for sure.0 -
Well, my numbers are in for the day and even with eating 12 snack size candy bars out of the Halloween bowl and a couple glasses of wine, I only went 98 calories over my target calories, still running a deficit, but only around 150 instead of 250.
12 candy bars? For me, that's an awful lot of sugar, but then I compared it to what many people eat daily and it really wasn't much more in total calories, carbs, and sugar than a couple bowls of Honey Nut Cheerios with vanilla almond milk and a glass of orange juice. Tomorrow it's back to about 25 grams of sugar total for the day and I won't even want to look at a carb.0
