Thanks! It was a bit scary at the time as I was alone in a remote, rocky trail. It's not too bad now after RICE (without the "I" as I hate doing it).
I'm relieved to hear you're healing. The iceless RICE sounds something I would try, unless I were in a world of hurt. We use Arnica Montana rubs & Turmeric capsules for sprains & strains around here.
I have to say that as weird as it sounds, I like to ice. I make little ice cups and use them to rub down the arch of my foot, my shins and sometimes my calves. I seriously believe it has helped me recovery from several injuries and I guess I have been doing it long enough that it doesn't bother me any more.
My daughter has recommended turmeric for inflammation but I have not yet tried it. Will have to check out the arnica rubs too.

If I NEED to ice, say after a 20miler, I'll fill the tub & soak in it. It works wonders, it really does, but I'll never get used to it. Ice is an act of desperation to avoid greater discomfort later.

    That is incredibly romantic.

That I could never do! Rubbing a tiny ice cup on my feet or legs I can manage... sitting in a tub of ice - nope :noway:

You will make it!! and it won't kill you!! may feel like it will but it won't!

As a reminder to myself and maybe others, I'm counting minutes because I live in a valley surrounded by tall trees and getting a decent gps signal is tough so it's easier for me to clock time ran.

    Nov 1- 30 minutes
    Nov 2- 31 minutes
    Nov 4- 31 minutes
    Nov 6 - 31 minutes
    Nov 8 - 31 minutes
    Nov 10- 34 minutes

I'm running 3-4 times a week plus doing T25 5 days a week (not counting T25 towards this though). Just happy with my progress. haha

Your body definitely needs a rest day. I know mine sure does and it lets me know when. Listen to your body, we don't want you to get hurt.

Got in 2 miles! Yup, that's all I could stand. Lol. We are snowed in (at least until hubs digs us out) and TV and Internet are down. Well, not down as I am obviously writing this, but I cannot stream anything. So after 2miles on the treadmill staring out the window at white nothingness I gave up. :) after all tomorrow is another day and netflix will be there.

Sidelined for a week because of leg injury caused by needing new running shoes. Got new ones yesterday, so back at it! Two races at the end of the month!

34 degrees this morning.... just a shorty this morning, but it was invigorating... first time in about a month that I have felt moderately ok running... suddenly looking forward to pounding out the miles in a "no treadmill" winter... my running has just been lackluster and ugly... time to HTFU...

Ran 2.5 miles in a respectable time today - building on the speed, need to work on consistency and endurance.

I don't know if I'll make it to my goal or not. I've been slowed down by pain in the back of my leg behind my knee. It does better if I take more rest than I was.
