May Walking Challenge - Get our butts in gear!

This is continued from previous Walking Challenges, but its nice when each month has its own thread. :laugh:
*** Anyone can join in at any time, the more the merrier, lets keep each other motivated****
Walking seems like the easiest way to start getting exercise, and even if you can't track distance (or don't want to), tracking time is good too...go for a 10 min walk after dinner, or up it to 30 minutes, you'll be amazed at the end of the month how much more exercise your getting in.
Check in everyday with how far you walked or how long, this is just to motivate us to get in at least some exercise everyday, and keep an eye on each other.
Make a ticker and keep it in your signature to remind you of your goal, and show everyone how well your doing. Go to this website.

Pick out your ticker pictures, set your miles or minutes, and your goal. Then copy all of the bbCode into your signature. It will look like this (but in your ticker...like mine) You use the url (from the bbCode) to update your ticker everyday (you can find this in your signature after you post the code there), just remember your pin.

Example of tracking Minutes - 30 min everyday
I want to try to keep this mostly to walking or walking type exercising. treadmills and ellipticals are A-OK. :laugh:

I just wanted to post these links again for the new comers Each one of these links is a mile walk. (or 12 min). With a total of 5 miles. So if you aren't able to make it outside, or don't have much time (12 minutes isn't asking a lot lol) then check them out to get in a quick walk.

I'd like to do this and have created my ticker and copied and pasted the bbc code in my signature, now how do I know if it took? Sorry new to all this lol. Also, I'm not sure I followed you on how to update my ticker.0

I'd like to join yall
I'm not going to do the ticker bc I have to steal a few minutes to get on here to track food and read a few posts (new baby). I will definitely keep track, though (minutes and miles) and update at least once a week My goal will be 20 miles and/or 15 hours/week

I am in again this month. Went over my goal last month so I am setting it higher than what I did last month. Last month my goal was 30 miles and I ended up doing 61. SO my goal for this month is 75 miles. I know I will be spending more time out and about as it warms up so I hope I can get there. I will update my ticker sometime today :-)0

Sign me up! I'm training for a half marathon power walk in June, so I'm putting in a rough estimate (probably a bit low) of about 50 miles in May.0

I'm a little embarassed of my low goal, but for the record, I do a 45min - 1hr 1/2 turbo fire workout every day in addition.0

Giving this a go... I really didn't do well last month. I've set my goal low this month, since the first couple weeks of May I'll be busy with tests and finals, and then after the 10th I should really be sinking into a regular exercise routine again. I'm so excited! Can't wait to see how much I can lose over summer break (I naturally do my best weight loss in the summer, and winter it seems almost non-existent lol)0
