You have never had a greater motivation to lose weight than this! You WILL succeed!
Stay at a calorie deficit each day and try to be patient. Do NOT try to lose too fast because it will weaken you physically and that will not help your child if you are too weak to have the surgery.
I WILL pray for you baby and for you to lose the weight needed to be his donor!0 -
Go for it! (too bad we don't have a pom-pom smiley!)0

You can do this! All the best to you and your family.0

There is a girl on you tube, miss pink... Something like that, who lost 20/month doing elliptical everyday for long periods of time. Her dad is a doctor, she's healthy & it all came off quickly. God bless you, your son and your family. I am praying for you all.0

Best wishes to both you and your son! As a father, I can't imagine the emotional turmoil you're going through even though my twins did start life off in the NICU as preemies.0

Wishing you all the best for you and your family. I don't think I've heard a better reason to lose weight and get into shape. Good luck.0

Wow! You can do this! I would love to friend you and send encouragements and follow your progress. Here's a tip: protein drinks. I use premier protein shakes (can get them at Costco). They fill you up, and are good for you. I drank 4 a day, and had one small meal at dinner time of a lean meat (mostly fish) and a small salad or veggie. I lost almost 27lbs in a month. Also be sure to take good vitamins!0

I came across your post while holding my baby girl and sitting beside my son, I am usually quite strong in front of them but this has moved me to the point of tears, you're an amazing father and I am praying for you and your family0

I'll be cheering from the sidelines. You'll do it. Go ahead and ask those same doctors who advised the weight loss to get you some added support, like a dietitian.0

About 15 years ago had a baby boy who has a chromosomal issue, and part of his health problems included liver failure. I never had the opportunity to donate part of my liver, but would have if I had been given a choice. Long story short is that we lost our little man due to liver failure and it was the most painful things I have ever been through. There are no words. So of you have the chance and it's just 80 pounds in the way, you are fortunate that you can help. I know as a parent we will do anything to help our babies, and I know how strong the desire to hold on is. We (members of this wonderful online community, all working towards a healthier self) will be here if you need support.Unfortunately I know how much it hurts if things don't go as planned. You can do it and you will do it. Your baby is lucky to have you.0
