What kind of treadmill do you use?

it's nothing special. its a nordic track brand i bought from sears for 500-600. the reason i bought it was because it had buttons for 1-10 for incline and speed so you didnt just to have to hit up or down for where you wanted to be. none of the others in my price range had that. and it has worked quite perfectly considering the amount of time i put on it. its nice now to not feel like im going to break the thing when i run on it.

I purchased a Nordictrack 3 months ago - the Commerical 1750 for 1499.00. The main two reasons I purchased this brand is because 1) I knew my husband would use it and his starting weight was 318 and 2) IFIT LIVE.

The 1750 has a weight tolerance of up to 350 lbs.

I'm really happy to know that your treadmill has proved reliable! So far, my treadmill is holding up well and the IFIT LIVE is a BLAST!!! The husband likes it because he can use the Google Streetview technology to experience walks in France, Hawaii or wherever his heart desires. You've inspired me to mount a Plasma TV in front of it to keep us both inspired.

its kind of to the point where i never sit and watch tv anymore, im at least walking. and the time absolutely flies when you are watching something interesting. plus being in michigan the weather has been pretty horrible overall. i was thinking about getting an ifit card for something new pretty soon.

Don't confuse the IFIT card with IFIT LIVE. They are different. The IFIT card allows you to download workout sessions w/ Jillian Michaels. Similar to the pre-programmed sessions that are already on your machine. With the IFIT LIVE card, you can hear Jillian's voice coaching you. She say's stuff like "Keep going"

The IFIT LIVE feature is built into some treadmills. This allows the user to plug their laptop or TV into the console of the treadmill using an USB cord. The user can log into their online IFIT LIVE account which interacts with the Google Streetview Map. From there, the user can draw a trail anywhere.

For example, yesterday I mapped a trail in the 90210 Beverly HIlls neighborhood, The husband mapped a trail in some providence located in Paris, France.

The user can also compete (and win real money) in different runs against other users such as a 5K. The Google Streetview technology allows the user to actually SEE the environment they are "running" in via his laptop or TV. They would see real cars, real people, houses... It's as simple as turning on the treadmill, and the route is sent via WI FI from IFIT LIVE to the treadmill. The treadmill will also adjust the incline or decline to mimic the typography of the chosen trail.

    It is amazing technology!

Well done! You look years younger, and you must feel so proud. I have tried Weight Watchers for the past 10 weeks and put 3 lbs ON!! Very vexed. So, back to calorie counting for me!!

i would start off going 4mph at a 2 incline and i would work all the way up to a 10 incline at 3.5 mph. i would spend a few minutes on each incline going up and then back down.

i try to do two separate hours of incline work and/or running. then depending on how i felt i would walk an additional hour sometimes more. i just cant sit and watch tv when i could be walking and watching tv. especially with several baseball games on every day.
