Calories burned in the bedroom

*warning- post adult in nature*
So I have a really awkward question. I use my fitbit to log my daily burns, and it is great, but it has been counting bedroom activities as steps, especially if I am moving my wrist a lot. I know that people say sex burns calories, but I question the calorie burn fitbit comes up with (via thinking I'm taking steps, not manually logged). So my question is: how exactly can I make sure my fitbit is not over estimating my burn? I don't want to just take it off since I feel naked when its not on (I know that sounds odd given the nature of the question). So how you go about it? My thought is maybe manually log an exercise during that time frame and record 0cal burn, but then it gets logged as "active minutes".

Don't worry about it. We get this question all the time on here. If it's something you normally do just like doing the grocery shopping then don't bother logging it and if it's something you don't usually do then yes you can log it but it won't be a very big burn according to most that have used a heart rate monitor during sex.0

Sex might burn 100 calories, but he is only moving his wrists. I say log it as weight training under "arm curl".0 -

Just take the burn as a bonus and don't bother logging it as activity.
Are you planning to eat back those burn calories?0 -

Lol, missed that. Change it from "arm curl" to "forearm" then.0 -

Even if you can't move do to restraints? (Which is a good thing, not bad lol).Don't worry about it. We get this question all the time on here. Lol I guess it would fall into the category of "normal activity". Lol good to know I'm not the only person who has asked.kevinmacpa wrote: »billieljaime wrote: »LMAO log it as "light cardio" sex should burn about 100 cals give or take

I'm a she. Lol. And I don't move enough to consider it strength training, IMO.

An average man on top burns 243 kcal/hour [Men's Health], and an average woman on the bottom burns 183kcal/hr. We make a big deal about logging every tortilla chip on here, so by all means take credit for anything beyond a quickie.

You need to get an extra lover then it's worth logging OP0

Yeah but how many men pump away for an hour in one session? What is the average it goes for? Way less from what I've read on average.

Thank you for the number of cals burned. They aren't even in the same ballpark lol.You need to get an extra lover then it's worth logging OP
Not sure what you mean by this.0 -
Just saying the more you have the more you'll burn0

A 90-minute session isn't pumping away the same way the whole time, of course! There's kissing, foreplay, different positions, etc. 25 minutes is a very sad state of affairs. Yes, sometimes it's short, but if that's the norm, time to shake things up or start fishing again.
PS - Ninja tip - abs and glute work really help!!

Thanks for the ninja tip. I'll tell them about it ;P

Just bumping to see if anyone else had an opinion.0

I assume its a wrist version? Because the visual for the zip leaves me speculating....lol.
Can't you just move it to the other hand?
Personally, if me, I'd find a little more variety that lessened any "active minutes" from the hand.0 -

Lol yes. Fitbit flex. I'm a bit confused by your reply. How would switching hands help?0 -

My first, middle and really only thought about sex is "Can I put my ugly thing in your ugly thing"? (More often too please?)
Breaking it down into calories seems...to really miss the point of participating in one of lifes greatest pleasures.
beating around the bush or buffing the banana on the other hand...feels like someone else is doing it, so I highly recommend that.
But count calories? I'm not sure my wife gets much of a calroic burn from my 47 seconds of monster love, perhaps a little friction burn but not much else

It is more of a concern that the fit it will give me extra cals because of the movement.0 -
Just take it off before the deed.0

Just take it off during sex. Seriously.0

I know this is passed, but I posted about self-love a while back while wearing a Fitbit. That logs some serious steps as a guy. I am not sure if girls would have the same issue though.

Lol I can totally see how it logs more steps for a guy.0 -

You mentioned extra steps from wrist-based activities. Perhaps I made an assumption, but if your flex was on the opposite wrist, and not thus moving, it wouldn't be giving you erroneous steps.
Really though, I think taking it off is your best bet. Repeat after me, naked is good0 -

And, um, probably more attractive, too. Fitbits are kinda ugly plastic things, aren't they? It'd be a bit like wearing socks to bed.0
