It looks like you enjoy salad, beans, and chicken. Add in some more veggies, avocado, cheese, chicken/beef/pork, and whole grains. You might want to slow down on the Chipotle and Ramen, they are really high in sodium. Making it yourself will hopefully cut back on that a bit. You definitely need to eat more food, though. Don't be scared of "bad" foods. Enjoy treats in moderation. Use your protein goal as a minimum.

I usually don't eat Ramen but since my surgery, it's been a go to unless my fiancé is home to make food. I was under the impression that Chipotle was relatively low in sodium because it's all fresh and full of protein and veggies.

I'm not trying to knock Chipotle. It's just usually cheaper and healthier to make it yourself. Hey, I love me some Chipotle:) I just don't eat out most days.

Chipotle has been my go to place whenever I eat out since I started dieting because it's freaking delicious and my fiancé can't get enough of it lol. I see what you mean-- I'll try making it at home but I have a feeling that it won't be as good as the real deal Chipotle.

I'd like to extend the hand of friendship to you, OP, if you want it. For one, I suffered from anorexia myself, and genuinely believed for years that I was just "not hungry." I get how scary it feels, and how much you truly believe you aren't in need of food. But for another, even though my calorie goal is set to 1800/day right now, I often eat around 1200, and I do so with full meals, snacks, "junk" and alcohol, the works. Anytime you want to see what that looks like, feel free to poke around my diary. And anytime you just want to chat about this stuff, or anything else, feel free to send a message. In the meantime, I hope you discuss this honestly with your doctor and get on the road to healing.

To be honest, I suffered from Anorexia when I was 13. I never even thought it could be back again. Yikes!
  • I do focus on what I eat but I'm not even losing weight anymore. I can't find a way to consume 1200 calories daily unless I'm eating something I shouldn't be.

There are a lot of things I have per day that get me to 2000 calories...I couldn't survive eating 1200. Nuts, beans, brown rice, oatmeal, chicken, fish, fruits, veggies....

I have MFP set for me to lose 2 pounds per week, which pretty much worked until I reached 141 pounds recently. I've always had problems meeting the daily 1200 calorie goal and if I decide to lower the weight loss goal per week, the daily calorie goal only gets higher. I don't know what to do but I'm extremely frustrated at this point.

you are at a weight and level of BF for which 2 Lbs per week is no longer sustainable...

The more weight you have to lose, the faster you can go...the less weight you have to lose, the slower it's going to go.

So it's normal for weight loss to slow down once you lose a certain amount?

Yes. The less you weigh, the less yor body needs. The less your body needs, te more restrictive your deficit becomes.

Anorexia is a sneaky beeyatch and can come back to haunt people, which is why I say, "Once an anorexic, always an anorexic." That's not the popular view, but it's mine and most of the popular views are full of crap, anyway, so I don't worry too much about what the popular views are.

It doesn't make much difference, anyway, since the problems related to anorexia are as wide and varied as the problems related to obesity. Everyone is unique and short of needing MORE FOOD, every anorexic needs to work her way out and back to health in her own way...just like short of needing LESS FOOD, everyone has to work their way out of obesity and back to healthy in their own way.

Go see your doctor. Get a referral to a dietitian and a therapist. If you want to be healthy, that's the smartest first step to take.

Think of weight loss not so much as X number of pounds per week, but as a percentage of your total body weight. When you first started losing one pound was a smaller percentage of your total body weight than it is now. It always slows down, the less weight you have to lose.

I'm 5'0 and my goal weight is 120-125 pounds.

That's a reasonable goal, but at 141 the odds of you losing 2lb a week are not good. Reduce that to 1 and if that doesn't happen, to 1/2/week. Losing the last 15 - 20lb slowly will help you maintain. As long as you're going down, it's all good. ;-)

Start to think about other things besides losing weight.

I decided to switch to losing 0.5 pounds per week because I'm not consuming enough caloriea to keep up with losing 2 pounds per week.

You really should try to add some more foods to your diet. You are missing out on so much! Do you really drink your k-cup black?

The Doctor is pleased that I'm losing weight. It's kind of embarrassing to tell him I only consume 600 calories and I really don't feel like hearing a giant lecture from him.

I'm very sorry for you. It's sad that you are choosing not to learn a sustainable way, of keeping all that weight you lost off.

I know I can reach the calorie goal if I eat foods that I shouldn't. But then I look at the Nutrition tab and I'm usually over or under in some or all of the categories.
    What foods "shouldn't you eat"?

Unless there are medical reasons, there are no foods that are inherently unhealthy that you shouldn't eat. You can meet as much of your calorie goal as possible eating nutrient rich foods such as fruits, veggies, meats, carbs, and fats that you consider "healthy" but when it comes to it, you have to meet a minimum calorie goal or your body will start shutting itself down. Fill the rest in with a few indulgences once in a while. They are going to be more calorie dense and maybe less nutritional value (maybe because that is not always the case) but you are getting more benefits out of eating a bit extra than eating entirely too little.

If your mindset is that all these "unhealthy foods" is going to cause you to put the weight back on or that you have to stay under 1200 calories a day, then there may be a mental issue that you may need to seek professional help for.
I dont understand how you could get overweight before, when you cant even eat 1200 calories a day.

I looked at your diary and if you are really honest and eat that amount you have a serious problem. You cant eat only 600 calories a day without damaging your body.

I hope you search for some professional help.

Not to be rude or anything, but what do I have to lose by not being honest? I'd only be fooling myself. I'm 100% honest in my diary. I want to lose weight and being dishonest doesn't help with that goal.

There are plenty of people out there that fool themselves in order to fool others. My mother was a hypochondriac and a compulsive liar for most of her life. She used to walk half a mile at the mall then tell people she just finished 5 miles. I don't know the brainy stuff behind it but I am positive part of it was an attention thing. Sometimes people lie to themselves in order to help themselves avoid the shocking reality. It isn't that uncommon. People here are showing concern in asking you to challenge your honesty.

I wish it was low in sodium. I LOVE Chipotle. But all of their meats are marinaded in high sodium marinades which transfers into the meat. There is also high amounts of sodium in their guacamole, salsas and in any cheeses and sour cream. Anything fresh and natural can still be high in sodium- very very very high.

555 now you still have about 700 to go Alissa for today. :)
I still have 300 to go to, didn't make up my mind yet but will make something nice maybe. Some banana chocolate ice cream or something.
Will check later what you got :)
