I have a Shake weight to help tone my arms is honestly the only reason I bought it ....has anyone had results from one of these or are there any calories burned with this

Shake Weight = gimmick (not to mention A LOT of laughs and jokes).

If you can return it, then do so and exchange for some dumbells and start a heavy lifting program.

Great advertising by the seller. There's no advantage of using it over a regular weight.

    Me, too!

OP: Even just a pair of dumbells would be better. Lift them up. Put them down.

I bought one. I think whatever exercise makes you have fun is good. I tried it for the first time and it kicked butt and I use free weights everyday.

No, not at all. Disregard most of what appears on an infomercial, not all, but most.
every little bit counts for me

Quantity is definitely not as important as quality exercise.

    An Old Fashioned...

If you like the Shake Weight parody, there is a SNL skit called The Jog Strap

    Hilarious!!

And no, those things are for developing mad skills within a certain range of motion :)

It does something my arms were sore as *kitten*. Ive lost an inch in 2 days. And my fiance, who lifts hundreds of tires a day, can only last 2 minutes.

If he only last two minutes, you probably don't need the vigorous training supplied by the shake weight.

Great necro thread though. Imma check out that SNL skit.

Well you wouldn't tone your arms at all even if you used it non stop. You can't spot reduce fat nor can you "tone" a muscle. You can increase size/mass, then show more definition through fat loss.

Just because something is tiring, makes you "feel the burn," or whatever, doesn't mean it is an effective training tool.

The Shake Weight is old technology now, they've come up with much more effective home workout devices. Check into the Tug Toner instead:
