Does water wash away burned fat? Will it build up?

I guess this is my high school biology talking - but when carbon and hydrogen bonds are broken they release energy, CO2 and H2O. Those bonds can be in the form of sugar, or fat, but either way the "product" of work done in the body is energy, carbon dioxide and water.

Fat cells never go away. They shrink, but once they're formed theyre there forever. I guess the exception would be if you had a procedure like lipo done, then you lose fat cells. Drink all the water you like...but you will still have the fat.

    Nope.

Cellular death. Apoptosis. Adipose cells die every minute of every day. Up to 10% a year.

They are replaced, though, but they do die and are not there "forever".

Most "burned" fat is expelled as carbon dioxide when you exhale. That's where the fat "goes".

This. She's right, you know. Your fat isn't actually "burned". It is metabolized as carbon dioxide and exhaled.

That seems like an abusive response. I'd expect more from a mod.

you're doing it wrong. Remember, fat is hydrophobic ("hates" water). To wash it away, you need to use a surfactant with the water.

Drink soapy water. Extra-strength grease-fighting detergent works best, like Palmolive or Joy. If you're into an organic or vegetarian diet you probably should use Biovert or Green works.

I am not sure if this is paleo-friendly.

I really wish water flushed away my fat:-(

    Seriously.

And now I'm picturing all this dead fat floating around my body, just waiting to be washed away. It's an interesting, but disturbing image.

    @‌Olivia

I agree, but we can't flag moderators. But considering the tone of most of the comments on this thread, the whole thread should probably be deleted.

So ... just what ... exactly ... do you think "burning" is?

Moderators cannot not be flagged you're correct but they can be reported to Olivia or Rachel to check into the situation. I'd suggest if you have questions to consider contacting her.

    Have a good day :)

You cannot flag moderators as spam or abuse, however you are able to use the Report option for any posts by moderators which you feel are violations of the community guidelines. Like this guideline here:

    11. No Airing of Grievances With Moderators

    a) Protesting a moderator or admin action is not allowed on the Forums or in Groups. If you have a question or concern about a moderator or admin action, please email one of the moderators or Olivia, MFP's Community Manager, with your concern and we will investigate the matter promptly.

    b) If you have concerns about another poster, or wish to report a guideline violation, the only appropriate venue is to use the Report Post link or to message a moderator or Olivia, MFP's Community Manager. You may not air such concerns on the message boards themselves. If you have a general concern that does not involve a specific member, you may post your question in the Feedback or Help forums.

    c) Threats made to moderators will not be tolerated, and will result in an immediate ban from the site.

That being said, I'll let Captain Hammer close this thread down.
