I go through about 50 books per year because of all the time I spend flying. Right now I am finishing up Tony James Slater's third book Kamikaze Kangaroos!: 20,000 Miles Around Australia. One Van,Two Girls... And An Idiot. You definitely need to check him.

Looking for new ideas for books to read. Ideas?

I'm reading The Bell Jar for the umpteenth time- but it's not for everyone! What genres are you interested in?

And the Mountains Echoed, is what I've just started. Same author who wrote The Kite Runner. One of the best books I've ever read.

My problem is I start too many books and get around to finishing a couple lol but here's what I have bookmarked all over my room:

Chris Hadfield - An Astronaut's Guide to Life on Earth
    Interview with the Vampire
    Paper Towns
Mindy Kaling's "Is Everyone Hanging out Without Me?"
    Sarah's Key
    White Oleander
Drop Dead Healthy - A.J Jacobs

I think you might enjoy the last one - it's an interesting read on how A.J Jacobs attempts to become the "healthiest person alive" by challenging every study and health advice one organ at a time.

QED by Richard Feynman - (the complete idiots guide to quantum physics)
The Sixth Extinction - Elizabeth Kolbert - (we're all gonna die)
Os Lusíadas - Luís Vaz de Camões (16th century epic poem of the history of Portugal)
La muerte de Artemio Cruz - Carlos Fuentes (the corruption of the Mexican Revolution)

This thread reminded me that I wanted to buy "The Black Box Society - The Secret Algorithms that Control Money and Information" by Frank Pasquale

I really liked Carol Goodman's Seduction of Water on audio. Really sweet and adorable, esp if you are into enchanted legends and characters you ship to death.

I last read Dan Simmons, "The Terror"
Wonderful historical fiction with a bit of scare, took place during the Arctic Explorations in the 1800's, my teeth were chattering!

Check out "The Diving Bell and the Butterfly" by Jean-Dominique Bauby. It's older, but really unique and interesting.

Thanks for the ideas! That's what I love about forums...some I've read, some I've heard of, most I didn't know existed. I hope people keep adding to this!

Yes, I have already put a couple of holds with my Public Library Consortium's digital library so I can download to my Nook. Heading off to the physical library this morning for something else so I will be checking out a couple of the titles. I typically read about 2 books a week.

That looks good. I just put a hold on the audiobook since I need something new to listen to while I swim my laps. Thanks for the suggestion.

I sat across from someone in the airport as they were reading this. Let's just say she was also blushing.
