Geeky girl here too. Though I gave up video games to find a healthier lifestyle for myself, I do appreciate the geekier things in life.

I've been a gamer since I first walked into an arcade (remember those!) over thirty years ago. Not about to change that now. And, with Kinect, I can play video games and get excercise at the same time!!

In case my username and avatar are too subtle....I'm a geek too! I'm not a girl geek though so I hope I'm not crashing the party! I'm a lifelong comic book, science fiction and video game loving geek and proud of it! Feel free to add me as a friend and if you like talking geek away from MFP, look me up on twitter. My username is the same: troythegeek.

Geek girl here as well. I read SF & Fantasy, lots of stuff by Patricia Briggs, play WoW, and run a D&D game. I like anime and read some manga, and was on the con committee for the 2008 Worldcon. Welcome! Feel free to add me if you like.

I'm kinda a geek too! I love reading- especially vampire, werewolf, supernatural fantasy type stuff. I married a guy whose last name is Kirk-yes, as in captain. Guess that makes me Mrs. Captain Kirk. :-) I'd love to lose this weight in order to rock a super hott costume at Dragon Con. (Its the closest Con to us and around my birthday so it works for us!)

OMFG Thanks for commenting (Troythegeek is one of my friends, and I never would have seen this thread otherwise)!

I am a geek, married to a geek, and somehow adopted four of my husband's geek boys as brothers-in-law when we got married. I'll admit that downing cheetos and mountain dew while trying to accomplish a six hour raid night on EverQuest2 probably helped get me where I am today (and not in a good way, lol). I still play (well, would if SOE wasn't down with the aftermath of a giant hack), and I'll still do my computery goodness, but now I'm making time for exercise and apples are as crunchy as cheetos, and make a great raid snack.

Good to see you all! I'm up for anyone that wants to be friends here! We all need to support each other. Mostly my IRL friends consist of the guys (who get uncomfortable when I mention anything about weight loss because it seems to remind them that I'm a girl, and that makes it weird), though I do have a couple of close fem friends that are my friends here too. I have a small support network off line for this, but it's amazing how much more motivated I am since I've grown my support network here. When I first signed up I wasn't going to accept any friends that I didn't know IRL, but I'm glad I changed my mind about that!

I played SWG for 3 years then WoW for 6 waiting for SW:TOR to come out...does that make me nerdy/geeky? I have managed to get a full work out in before logging on and since I have to have something to drink I have switched to water! You can do both! :D Good Luck Peeps! Add me as a friend if you'd like!

I have never once bitten the head off a chicken at the circus. Am I, however, a bit of a nerd married to even more of a nerd (he's a nuclear physicist). Love all the usual scifi suspects, as well as some fantasy. Not so much into computer games anymore (one computer among 3 computer nerds is not good), but love board and card games - SuperMunchkin, Zombies, or Catalan, anyone? Feel free to add me.

Hi! I'm such a nerd too! Something I've found that can help me break away from a book or the internet to exercise (especially on the treadmill) is a book on tape.

I originally started exercising because of the Warrior Dash. Costumes encouraged?! You get a viking hat at the end of the race?! F-yeah! I'm there!

... ah, SWEET! Look at all you geeks, nerds, dorks, mathematicians (redundant with "nerd" though, isn't it?). Why aren't you all on my friend's list? I'm sorely falling behind and missing out on all this extra geekery. Help me out and throw me a request so I don't have to do all the work myself. ;)

I had to have all facets of my life filled with dorkery to the point that I married a scientist. Working on the kiddo at the moment. She's being indoctrinated into Star Wars fanaticism on a daily basis.

    Dork/Geek/Nerd reporting for duty.

Its nice to find a bunch of people who would understand that my eating habits are the same as my nerd herd and while they all are now sporting cute boy beer-bellies, I was the only one who grew massive-sized. :( My girlie metabolism sabotaged me, and my own inability to only eat a slice of pizza when the guys are gobbling away happily.

I love finding you like minded people on MFP Add me please ! :)

I haven't given up video games entirely, but I pretty much only let myself play old school NES and Genesis games (yes, I still have my original NES and Sega Genesis and games. I can't stand the thought of letting them go!), The only "modern" system I still have is a PS2, I do love me a PS1/PS2 RPG and can't bear to part with them! Although Netflix and Hulu have been killing me (though I am so pleased at the same time) by adding more anime recently! And at the same time as the new season of Doctor Who... It can be hard to motivate myself to leave the TV! Thank goodness for DVR.

Woot woot! I love all this geekery! You all make me feel right at home here. So hard to find people who understand the random quotes and sci-fi references, know that Walking Dead was a comic BEFORE it was a TV series, or generally don't care about letting their inner geek show. I think I need you all as friends on here!

I'm a chemist geek momma married to the biggest geek I know (software engineer), raising two Pokemon-crazed, star wars watching, comic book reading, computer programming, video game playing (retro and current) geek girls. So proud!

You understand the lifestyle of the geeky. Add another geek girl to your corner!
