So I was wondering if anyone knew any good places to go to find Chinese food recipes. I woke up craving Chinese food (which is weird because I haven't had it in 2+ years) but can not order out.

Google slow cooker cashew chicken. Delicious. I add 1/4 cabbage, red capsicum (bell pepper) zucchini and broccoli about 30-60 min before serving0

I like myrecipes. It's a pretty cool site and you can filter recipes based on "World Cuisine."

Why yes, yes I do! I imported it directly, and changed everything based on the brands I used. The calories will be lower, since not all the corn starch and oil is used based on my experience. I underlog oil for this reason; most of what I poured into the pan was still there after I was done cooking the recipe, plus I drained and patted down the chicken after it was fried before tossing it in the sauce, so I account for the fact that the calories are a tiny bit lower than the recipe builder tells me.

Wow, that looks amazing. I wonder it would work with duck instead of chicken. Duck is better in my opinion with citrus sauces.0 -

Wow! Not nearly as high in calories as I would have thought.0 -

I know! I inputted it as six servings (since I cook it in 4oz raw chicken batches) to factor in that rice and possibly another side would be served with it as well, but it's definitely one I can eat on its own straight from the bowl, haha.
Edit: also realized a typo in my OP. Calories are lower*, not higher, because of the oil.0 -

Haha. I made chicken stir-fry the other day and intended to have it with rice since it would fit into my calorie alottment. What actually happened? I ate the entire pan fil of the stir fry and totally forgot I had the rice in the microwave lol.

I can't do take out at all, regardless of if nutritional info is avaliable or not.
I like most things lol. Beef and broccoli, meats with citrus sauces, veggies, rices, pretty much all dishes I can tweak to be gf.0 -
Chicken chow mein is good, it's got loads of stir fry ingredients so much better than most things from a chinese.0

Try looking on Allrecipes.com. They pretty much have any kind of food recipes that you can think of. Search a particular dish or ingredient and the list pops up. Don't use the app, that is a waste of time. The website is free, but you can pay for stuff if you want to use it for other things. I used a sweet and sour pork dish that came out delicious and the calories per serving was fairly low (until you put in the white rice to soak up all the sauce). It was a great recipe though with sweet, sour, and spicy flavors.
The recipe box is free on the website so you can save the favorites while you're browsing and then go back to it later on. It's a neat little site that I have always recommended.0 -
This one my family loves. We make with rice and steamed veggies.

I recently made this from Rasa Malaysia: http://rasamalaysia.com/black-pepper-chicken-recipe/
I made it as 2 servings, 331 calories each.
The rest of the website is very good as well.0 -
Bumping to try later.0

I LOVE Chinese food. But I don't have any good Chinese near me, so I've been teaching myself how to make my favorite items. So far, these recipes are awesome:
Skinny Honey Lemon Chicken (I doubled the original because I made this by itself for dinner and I was hungry!). Also, I threw in some broccolini.

Sesame Chicken Potstickers (time consuming, but tasty)

PF Changs Lettuce Wraps

AND, last but not least, the ultimate favorite!

Here's the link to the original recipe for Orange Chicken. After playing with it, I've found that it's better if you do it this way:
This recipe is for a complete meal of Orange Chicken, Fluffy Rice, and Sesame Green Beans.
Ingredients:
• 2 pound boneless, skinless chicken breast tenderloins
• 2 egg
• 1 teaspoon salt
• ½ cup cornstarch
• ½ cup flour
• 4 tablespoons vegetable oil
• 2 (about 4 cloves) teaspoon crushed garlic
• 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
• 4 green onions, chopped
• 2 teaspoon dried ginger
• 2 tablespoon rice wine (not rice wine vinegar)
• ½ cup of water
• Zest of one orange
• 2 tablespoon soy sauce
• 10 tablespoons sugar
• 10 tablespoons white vinegar
• 2 tablespoon cornstarch
• 2 cups of green beans, fresh if in season, frozen if not in season (broccoli is better, imo)
• 2 tablespoon sesame seeds
• 2 cups of uncooked rice
Preparation:
Stir together the egg and salt in a plastic zip top bag.
Place the chicken in the bag and zip it shut. Gently squeeze the bag to coat the chicken in the egg mixture.
Cook the rice in 4 cups of gently boiling water until the liquid is absorbed, about 20 minutes.
While the rice cooks:
In a bowl, stir together the ½ cup of cornstarch and ½ cup of flour.
Dip the chicken pieces in the flour and cornstarch mixture to coat.
- I’ve actually found it best to strain the egg from the chicken in a collander and then put a couple pieces of chicken in the flour and coat (using a fork to move things around), then add a couple more pieces, and coat. Repeat as you cook the chicken
Fry the chicken in 3 tablespoons hot oil until crispy brown. Remove from the pan. (I deep fry the chicken in corn oil)
Add 1 tablespoon of oil to the pan and cook the garlic, onion, and red pepper for about 2 minutes.
Premix and add the ginger, rice wine, water, orange zest, soy sauce, sugar, and vinegar. Cook till it simmers (Double ingredients for extra sauce).
Mix the cornstarch with ¼ cup of water and stir into the orange sauce mixture.
Add the chicken and stir to coat. Cover to keep warm until the green beans and rice are done. (I prefer broccoli over beans)
Cook the green beans in the microwave until tender. Toss with the sesame seeds.
Serve the orange chicken and beans over rice.
