One whole measuring cup 8 oz of vodka = 512. I think that's the same for any unflavored hard alcohol. Club soda for a mixer because it's zero. My family doesn't like that I use a measuring cup for my alcohol but I learned it from cooking shows.

Orange vodka with soda water. 5 drinks @ 1.5 oz vodka per shot comes in at just under 500 calories. Tastes good, too...if you're a wimp like me who vomits with straight liquor.

I really like makers 46 straight, but it can cause acid reflux issues in me, so I don't drink it too much.

    am a non-fan of vodka.

If I'm going to have 500 calories of booze, it's going to be wine. To each their own, however.

Goal = max alcohol % per calorie

That wouldn't be my goal. That's fine if you're drinking to get drunk. If I had 500 calories to spend on alcohol I'd go for the best craft beer or good wine that I could get my hands on. My goal is to maximize enjoyment and taste, not necessarily alcohol.

It sounds good but it's only 60 proof not 80. So basically you're just paying more for watered down vodka.
