Cindy Crawford Unretouched Image

  • Part of aging gracefully is knowing when to keep your shirt on in public

That's funny coming from a kid who has asked me to take my shirt off.

I'm not sure why women (and not men?!) have to cover up and hide. Aging is natural.

Her husband posted this in response ...

I'm perfectly willing to admit the leaked photo is just an unflattering photo and her stomach normally looks flawless, but... laying on your back is cheating. ;) I wish my stomach always looked as good as it does when I'm lying down.

Reminds me of this passage from a Golden Girls episode:
Dorothy: You know when you’re twenty no matter what you do everything stays where its supposed to. Now when you lean over it looks like somebody’s let the air out of your face.

    Blanche: What?

Dorothy: Honey, lean over a mirror sometime and take a look at yourself.

    Blanche: Where’s a mirror?

Sophia: There’s one in the tool drawer.

Dorothy: I think you better take a sedative before you look.

Blanche: Don’t be silly, I look at my face all the time. How different could it be leanin’ over. [leaning over and looking into the mirror] Oh my God!! Oh my God, Dorothy why didn’t you tell me about this before?!!

Dorothy: Only on your back Blanche. That way everything slides back and you look like you just had a facelift.

Blanche: [leaning back and looking in the mirror] Oh you’re right, I’m gorgeous. I’m gonna have to meet men lying down.

    Sophia: I thought you did.

Dorothy: Of course that way not only does your face fall back but your chest does too. Unfortunately it falls back and off to the side.

I appreciate GG much more now than I did when I was a teenager. Plus, it's a great insomnia cure.

I look at it this way - for guys who got married in their 20s or 30s, what did you visualize your wife looking like at 50 after having a few kids? Does Cindy Crawford meet or exceed your what you expect?

Ah, so he's a frequent flier.

What is your problem? I want to like you. You seem like a decent enough kid with some self esteem issues, and the whole goth thing is a bit played, but you can be pretty funny and cool too.

There are no *haters* in this thread Bambi. You always try to pull these conversations down for what reason I don't know. My kid does that at home and I'm hoping 15 will finally see the end of that behavior. Please. Stop. Already.

But that Blanche is perfect, so I adore you for that.

I know, right? She's more than twice my age and looks a million times better than me. I think she's fantastic. Grey hair and all..my hair will probably be almost that grey in a few years, if my mom and grandma are anything to go by..thanks genetics!

I started getting white hair when I was 17. I started coloring it a few years ago. I'm more than 50% white hair now. It's white (not gray), sparkly, shiny, silky soft and healthy. I just started growing it out 5 weeks ago!

From what I have read, this photo was leaked. Ms. Crawford did not put it out there.

I am sure we have all taken a bad picture in our lives. Unflattering lighting, poor posture, an awkward angle can combine to create an image that even photoshop can't fix. I am sure that for every profile selfie most of us have posted, there are several other pics we've discarded because they weren't good enough to share. This was simply one of those photos from the reject pile.

Which is not to say Cindy looks bad. She's a genetically blessed woman who has taken good care of herself over the years. I think it is sad that our culture expects women in their 40s and 50s to look exactly as they did in their 20s. Should I be sad that my boobs aren't as perky as they were back in college…or proud that they nourished three boys for more than a year of their lives? Should I let the loose wrinkly skin on my tummy get me down, or be amazed that my body was able to carry three healthy babies? Should I be upset about the smile lines on my face or the crinkles around my eyes, or simply remember the joys that etched these lines in the first place?

I really like this ((Hug)) You are an amazing woman.

My hair is exactly the same way! Yeah it's white hair too, not even grey, and really healthy and shiny too. I'm 30 this year and I found my first white hair at about 17. I am going to have to decide soon if I'm going to colour it or not. I probably won't, my hair is waist length and really thick so colouring it would be insane and I'm sure as hell not going to cut it. I'll just go with it I guess.

    I wish I hadn't colored it.

Wow, for someone being used as a spokesperson for skin care products, hers looks horrible! Eeek!
