LOVE cinnamon! I add it to vanilla yogurt, coffee (actually won't have coffee without it) chai, and to my chocolate protein shakes. I'd be willing to bet that I have cinnamon every day. I have heard cinnamon mixed with honey, daily, can help with joint inflammation.

    GOOD TOPIC!

One study found that smelling cinnamon boosts cognitive function and memory

1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon per day can lower LDL cholesterol

I sprinkle it over my sugar-free, fat-free jello! Sounds kinda strange but it heightens the flavor to a really yummy place. :)

I didn't take time to watch the video. is that about eating a teaspoon of cinamon? It is supposed to be impossible? I had a work buddy do it, but he said he had to work up a lot of saliva in his mouth before ingesting it to get it down. He spent the rest of our shift in the bathroom though.

Yeah. I haven't seen anyone able to do it yet. It gets your mouth and throat so dry that you end up coughing and it shoots our your nose. Hence "Cinnamon Dragon."

I put it in my oatmeal, in my shakes, in my yogurt, in my pancakes. I don't even care if it's good for me. I love it so much. Roasted Saigon cinnamon is yum.

It helps to control sugar cravings. I use it in vanilla protein shake with a dash of nutmeg to spice up the flavor a bit. I also have cinnamon capsules to help with glucose metabolism.

i read in an earlier thread that the cinnamon we use daily can be bad for you in small amounts because it's the wrong cinnamon...so reading up on "true cinnamon" makes you rethink the kind of cinnamon to use on a daily basis.

from webmd.com: "Studies suggest cinnamon may have a stabilizing effect on blood sugar levels. This could curtail appetite, particularly in people with type 2 diabetes, Bonci says. Nearly everyone can benefit from cinnamon in its traditional role. Stir some into your coffee, tea, or yogurt to add sweetness without adding calories." So, is shop bought sprinkle on your oatmeal not a good Cinnamon, and how much should be taken daily for it not to be harmful?!?!

I use the sprinkle cinnamon and the cinnamon capsules. I've taken 1000 mg per day of the capsules without ill effect. People with diabetes take it in order to regulate blood sugar and to kill sugar cravings. Just make sure that you don't take cinnamon that is mixed with sugar, that negates the purpose of it.

I have never heard that cassia is harmful, Just that it does not contain all the properties of the "true cinnamon"

Here is an interesting article explaining the differences between the two forms of cinnamon and how you can tell the difference: http://www.whfoods.com/genpage.php?tname=newtip&dbid=31

I am a high school English teacher, and I started keeping Cinnamon scented plug-ins in my room after I read that same things somewhere! It keeps my room smelling good, and if it helps me and my students that is great!
