Im newly sober (14 days). I was wondering if anyone has struggled with finding there groove after alcohol. I thought the weight would melt off.

quite the contrary for some . You find that you replace the alcohol with food. Everyone is different though .0

weight loss takes time. And requires a deficit in calories. So not drinking alcohol obviously helps, but if you replaced alcohol with more food... then not really. I can't help you though with this specifically, I haven't been a big drinker since high school (which I find slightly ironic, but alas).0

I've actually had no appetite. They say it will change.0

Are you logging your intake daily?0 -
when i first became interested in fitness, quitting alcohol was the toughest thing i had to do. congrats on the 14 days. Recently, i decided i would try dating again, and in turn it lead to bad habits returning. I would have a bunch of drinks, eat a bunch of crap and repeat. Pretty much at that point all it took was getting on the scale and seeing how quickly getting out of the groove can spiral out of control. Only took a few days, and A LOT of water to get back on track. Pretty sure its different for everybody though.0

It can change but not for everyone one . If you have had no appetite just remember to eat and drink plenty of water. ana is right though sometimes we dont realize how much we consume.0

Don't worry about tmi around here. We regularly discuss menstruation, bowel movements, breast restraint, how many calories burned during sex, and the calorie content of male ejaculate.
So other than talking about lent or anything in French, go nuts.0 -

Yeah but I need to find an eligible person first for any of this to become a reality. I should pitch this to network TV: Biggest Loser meets The Bachelorette.0 -

Sadly, that could actually work.0 -

As we all know an HRM is only accurate for steady-state cardio.
If your shagging is steady-state, something is going wrong somewhere

Congratulations and good luck. The weight will come off but more importantly you'll be adding healthier habits and peacefulness. If youn gain weight I wouldn't worry too much about that either, it is pretty common to overeat and comsume a lot of sweets at first.

I'm eleven months sober, down almost a hundred pounds, and yes, it took me forever to "find my groove" (to steal your phrase) after I quit drinking. The benefits have been absolutely amazing though. My waistline is only one of about a thousand ways my life has improved since I got sober.
Feel free to add me, and if you ever need support, or to talk to someone who has been there, message me any time. I'd be thrilled to help in any way I can.0 -
