I'm sure I'm not the only person who tries to bring a little whimsy to the gym (gotta brighten up the place, what with all the people silently judging each other) via their socks. I've got a decent little collection and I'm curious to see what others have to offer.
(These are strawberry shortcake socks. Respect)

No "Beast Mode" socks, no care.0

I only have bright pink ones, but they count double, because I'm wearing them on the platform.

Please explain to a non-lifter why deadlift socks are a thing? Is it because of the compression? Everyone's socks are lovely I just want to know why.0

It's easy to scrape and bruise your legs with the bar because you have to pull it against yourself as it comes up. The socks help protect your shins, and also look cool.0 -

They protect your shins a bit from the bar which can give you a nasty scrape. That's the only benefit I can think of.

I don't wear them in the gym and I've never scraped my legs, however in (some?) competitions they are compulsory, as they also stop you scraping your legs and getting blood on the bar.0 -

That's about it really. I've gotten a few scraps when I started lifting (I'm clumsy and uncoordinated) so I started wearing my husbands ugly thick work socks, then switched to cuter brighter colors for fun.0 -

My favorite pair is the NERD version of these. They are orange & black. I'll dig mine out and post a pic tomorrow.

I should get a rainbow bright pair. My only pair are boring, black compression socks. I figure I'll earn goofy socks once I'm repping 5 plates+0

I would happily kill for some of those to fence in.0

One does not need to earn goofy socks.

So in for this...
