exercises for mons pubis? HELP!

FUPA = Fat Upper P.u.s.s.y Area. When we get fat, we get the FUPA. When we lose weight, it goes away. And just like your abs, you can't "spot reduce."
LOL
Thank you for spelling that out...I was afraid to ask what a FUPA was. You saved me the embarrassment.
*backs out slowly now*

Hefty trash bag, duct tape, original Jane Fonda on VHS and drink more green tea.0

Ok, you know that area on your pubic bone? Below your lower belly and above your who-ha? well thats got a nice layer of fat on it that I would like to lose. But sadly, I cannot find ANYTHING on an exercise to help trim down on that area... HELP!!!
Have you started to lose weight yet? I'm 13 lbs down, and that's actually the first spot my fat disappeared from (well, that and my inner thighs). Kind of depressing for me, because I was hoping to lose it on my tummy, hips, or outer thighs!1 -

The FUPA is actually the bottom of one's stomach. The mons pubis generally doesn't get that large, but the stomach hangs down and makes it look like the P***y area. The panniculus is actually what we are looking at.
That being said, I believe an extra amount of fat in pubic area is genetic. OP, I believe you are not referring to your panniculus, but actually to a over-fatty mons pubis. I have friends who have always had a particularly "puffy" pubic area, even after losing a significant amount of weight. OP, there are even surgeries to "correct" this issue because it's not possible to spot reduce. It's very possible that even with 100 lb weight loss, it will not go away and I've even seen some get "worse"- the fat remains, but becomes saggier with weight loss.
Technically, Fat Upper Pubic Area, not the pannus. I know the difference between the lower belly and the pubic area.
Not necessarily genetic. I noticed when I gained a lot of weight, I had a FUPA. When I lost it, it went away.
I understand that the pubic area gets fatter as we get fatter, yes. I also understand there is a difference between the pubic area and the lower stomach. Obviously both get fatter when we do. What I was saying is that the FUPA that society refers to is not actually the fatty pubic area, but the panniculus. When somebody is seen on the street and somebody whispers "oh, look at her FUPA"-- it's generally her hanging stomach tucked in to her jeans, not her protruding pubic area.
Again, as I mentioned above, the fatty pubic area CAN get smaller with weight loss, but there are also times where people can lose all the weight they want, but still have a fatty pubic area, due to genetics. There is literally a surgery to correct this, even on a person who has been naturally thin their entire life.
ETA: My point is-- OP may or may not be able to dramatically reduce the fat in this area with weight loss.0 -

There are several lower ab exercises that will target that area (I.e. leg raises and mountain climbers). Also some inner thigh exercises.0
-
When you lose weight that area will reduce along with the rest of your body.0

But losing on the inner thighs means your thighs no longer rub together, no? That's a plus in my book!

What do you mean "Nope"? This is scientifically proven to work, particularly for the pubic area. Just google it.0 -

It is scientifically proven to remove excess water, which you will gain back.
Losing fat is like trying to dry out a sponge, You can't dry a corner while the rest of it is still wet. That being said, you can strengthen what is under the fat to have a nice firm body when the fat is gone. The area the OP wants to target is best hit through a mix of compound lifts and core strengthening/stabilization exercises. Abdominal work will not be as effective as core work and full body training.0 -

I did google it - I see zero scientific studies. Care to provide sources?
Wearing a trash bag while you work out causes dehydration and can lead to serious health risks. It screws up your body's cooling process by preventing the sweat you create from being evaporated, which tells your body to continue to produce sweat, leading to dehydration. Any "loss" you might see is not actually fat loss, it's water loss.
But please, prove me wrong.0 -

So crunches target belly fat? No. That's what we are saying. There is a difference between improving the muscle in a certain area and removing the fat in a certain area. You can improve the muscle through targeted exercises, you cannot remove the fat through targeted exercises. We are answering her actual question accurately.0 -

It IS genetic. I've been obese and within my normal BMI and have the "Fat monkey". LOL!! Although, it was less noticeable at my lower weight.
I've always had it and I HATE IT. I've always been self conscience of this area will buy shirts, blouses, that are long enough to cover it.
I understand your pain.0 -

But there are exercises to trim down and to help lose weight else where on the body. I am starting to work out to lose weight, but Its one of those problem areas I would like to work on as well. We all have problem spots, one of mine happens to be there.
And I know we cant get rid of it and that there will always be a curve there, but its kinda an issue, when you look like you have a bulge in your pants and you are a full born female and have to lift it up, just to wipe.
There are exercises that target specific muscle groups, but you can't spot reduce (as it's already been said). You could try to work on the muscles in your lower abdomen and obliques, thereby tightening and toning up those areas...but only overall fat loss is going to truly do away with the fat in ANY particular area on the body.

It's not like people actually advocating for things like that in a serious way is out of the ordinary on this forum.1 -

Some brutal responses by some people I've known for a while. You guys should know as well as anyone else that people believe that crap and will pass garbage off as science when they don't want to try to defend themselves. It's not even remotely a stretch to think that it was a serious response. Maybe they do need a sarcasm font. It's hardly a loss of sense of humor to think someone was serious.2

Try running, it's a good exercise; sit ups and eating good should help0
