Lemon Juice Benefita

Citric acid is amazing for cleaning toilets ...throw it down and leave it overnight ...particularly good for hard water limescale deposits
I use it for almost everything. I have a spray bottle with water and a little citric acid that I use as a glass cleaner, I soak anything that needs lime scale removed in it, I throw a handful of it into my dishwasher and run a cycle when I need to clean and deodorize it, I mix it with water and run it through my keurig to clean it, etc. Oh you can also mix it with some baking soda, cornstarch, and sweet almond oil for great bath bombs!

Not sure if I'll be able to consume 2 liters of any lemon-concoction, but why not at least try to flush the so-called toxins out?
My only questions are... do you think the lemon will go better in tequila or vodka?
And can the toxins be removed when I violently decimate my bathroom by throwing up from alcohol poisoning?
Given the choice, vodka is the direction I would go....0 -
In to find out specific toxins...0

Limoncello is vodka in which lemons have been soaked for a few weeks. Delicious. Perhaps it's the holy grail: alcohol that cleanses your liver? Beautiful.0 -

If nothing else, the lemons will cancel out all the toxinz from the vodka, so it'd just be a neutral drink. You can probably just log it as water.0 -

Well that's exciting. I have a nice bottle of homemade Limoncello in my pantry. Maybe tonight's the night I finally get rid of all the toxins for good.0 -

I've only been lurking these boards for a short time but I love you all!0

To all the haters on this board: have you considered that our life span is so much longer than our ancestors because of this? Lemon juice gives our body a boost to cleanse ourselves of toxins our organs never could! If you stop using lemons you will die quickly. Wait and see!
WAT?Just kidding: I'm here for the sarcastic gifs.
Well played.0 -
I have been trying this as freshly squeezed lemon juice mixed with water. I will admit the taste is pretty tart by itself, but I do think it is helping me. I will keep testing this to see if it works. I'd never heard of adding syrup and pepper to it. Maybe I'll try it.0

Vodka? Maybe some American variation. The original Sicilian limoncello is just made with alcohol, sugar, and lemon skin (whole lemons would go rotten).

I'm confused. Vodka isn't alcohol? I've been led astray for so long0 -

Vodka is a Russian liquor made by fermenting potatoes or cereals, while for limoncello we use just plain alcohol. The vodka variation sounds interesting though

Ah, that stuff tends to be regulated in many US states, so most recipes we get here for Limoncello use Vodka, as it's the flavorless spirit we have the most access to.
And, yes, it's really just the zests that flavor the yumminess. I hope that doesn't take away the magical toxin-removing superpowers of the lemons, though.0 -

I don't know anything about either, but I do like your profile pic. My husband and I went to MOMA in NY a couple of years ago and loved the Futurist room the most.0 -

OP, I hope you posted this as a joke and don't really believe that lemon juice has special properties.
The only way to lose weight is to eat at a calorie deficit. You can include lemon juice if you want, or even whole lemons, but if you eat over your maintenance calories you will gain weight.

Tequila is always the right answer.
One tequila, two tequila, three tequila floor!
Hey, maybe that is how the toxinz are removed - when you hit the floor, they burst free!0
