3 days in and I already lost 3 lbs?

Is this a good thing or a bad thing? I haven't really exercised a lot during the past three days but I have been eating about the right amount of calories. Is it normal to drop pounds that quickly?

If you're just now getting started, then losing 3 in 3 is fairly common. It's mostly water weight, but it looks good on the scale right?!
Your ticker says you've lost 13 so far...so does that mean all of a sudden you lost a pound a day for 3 days but you've been doing this for a while? Are you just getting started? What am I missing?

During the first 1-2 weeks of a diet you tend to drop a lot of retained water. That makes it seem like you have lost a lot of weight. Only a little of it is fat. (I lost 15 lbs once in the first week of a new diet). This is especially noticeable for low carb diets that deplete your body's store of glycerin.

So that is normal, but still sounds like you are doing a good job!

    It's water, it's fine.

Oh no I was using this app a while back when I was heavier and I just recently started using it again and I had lost weight since then so when I put my weight in it said I lost like 10 lbs.

Just be prepared for a week or two when you don't lose anything or even gain a little. Eventually the body realizes it dropped too much water weight and starts to retain the amount it is supposed to have. You will still be losing fat. The typical cycle of "drop lots of weight/stop losing/start losing a normal amount" takes about 4-6 weeks. Keep doing everything right and focus on the trend and the average weekly loss and you will be fine.

Don't be concerned with the number on the scale, your weight will fluctuate (sometimes 5-10lbs throughout the day)
