There's approximately 1 calorie per 6 oz of coffee, according to Google, which sources the USDA. I wouldn't sweat it. I log it, but not for the calories. I log it because I like to see everything I consume, and it's just habit at this point.

Ditto. I also log it because I add milk to mine, which *does* have calories.

I love my coffee too. Always 'use' to drink 4 or 5 cups a day, black, with 2 teaspoons of sugar per cup. Decided to cut the sugar out and try drinking it black. Three months later, now only drinking 2 cups of black coffee a day. Miss the sugar though, but seems kinda grouse now with how much sugar I use to have a day - and that was just for coffee! :p

I look forward to waking up just for my coffee and sunrise altogether

The tiny calorie-count of coffee comes from the oils from the coffee beans. Mine is straight black with half a 20 oz cup filled with coffee and the other half with hot water. I then add 5 Splenda packets. All in all, from 2.3 to 4-something calories. I'll have as many as two by noontime. Even in my losing phase, I wasn't at all worried about calories from that anymore than I was from Dr Pepper Bold (with 10 calories).

Each Splenda pack has 3.75 calories worth of maltodextrin. So 5 of them is 14 calories. For people with small deficits/small calorie allowances little calorie amounts like this matter. I always log my Splenda.

Just read the latest data on coffee. The experts think drinking 3 to 4 cups a day black could be the answer to preventing a number of diseases. Diabetes, Parkinson, obesity. Let us all drink up

it's odd....cause for years, i've been using the generic 'brewed coffee from grounds' entry that is 'myfitnesspal approved addition'...and for *kitten* and giggles, today for breakfast a couple from church took me to ihop.....and decided to check their nutrition facts while we were eating.....and ihop coffee has 5 calories, 1g carbs, and 1g of fiber....per cup....they were probably 6-8 ounce 'cups' i'd say, maybe not even 8 ounce....lol.

then last week or so i went to sonic drive in for their 'red button roast' coffee and their coffee clocked in a similar fashion sonic's 16 oz regular clocks in at 15 calories....40g sodium, 2g carbs, 1g fiber, 1g protein lol, and 1% calcium daily value....

kinda funky.....and i'd assume that is 'black' coffee hehe. obviously cream would be extra.....but regular half and half is typically only 10 calories per 'tub'

I've been claiming coffee is a health food for years.
