I'm really happy this post exists.
In the past I lost 40 pounds. Unfortunately, I ate all the weight back +16 pounds.
I'm here to get back on track.
I've lost 5 lbs, I already feel lighter, and somehow breath better. Even with that little weight off breathing has been easier for me.
This post is truly inspirational for me, thank you for sharing.
How you'll acquire a taste for food you've previously "hated". I've always liked fruit but apples were pretty much a "meh". Now, I'll forsake just about any other fruit for apples. I could eat a dozen a day.
I could not STAND yogurt. Whether it was the too sweet taste or slimy texture, I just couldn't eat the stuff. I don't know what happened. It seemed to switch overnight and now I love me some yogurt. Greek yogurt, to be exact.
I can reach down and tie my work boots without almost blowing a gasket. It is interesting how the style of shoe change as a person loses weight (think velcro closing running shoes), i.e. going from "slip ons" to a "tie up" style shoe, or instead of "stomping" their feet into their "tie up" shoes, they now can tie them up properly.
My feet love me more when I weigh less.
The fact that eating all this wonderful healthy food gives you GAS! All I do is FART and it smells HORRIBLE!....Cmon I cant be the only one LOL
That's why I'm not eating beans for a few days!
Yeah, beans. I'm kind of glad they don't seem to fill me up very well, because what comes out of my mouth is often socially unacceptable enough. I don't need to be worrying about the other end!
I love the fact that getting dressed doesn't take very long now. I used to go through 3 or 4 outfits because "my bum looked big" or "these jeans are too tight". Now - everything fits like it is supposed to - job done!!
Now I'm more jealous of those who are overweight because they can also eat whatever they want, whenever they want and not think about fitting it into their calories. I have no desire to be like that again, but sometimes I am jealous.
That's the trick of it - they aren't really doing what makes them feel good or happy, generally. I know... i was one of em. Being indulgent and doing what you want when you aren't being mindful isn't something to be jealous of!
I know i'm looking forward to the point where i can run down to DQ for a blizzard, and i'll be satisfied with a small, and just one for now, with no habit of doing it regularly. But for now, i'm breaking that habit so i'll stay away for the nonce.
Good work. Keep it up! When you're healthy, hopefully you'll be able to indulge without over-indulging, or letting unhealthy patterns develop!
How good it feels to be lighter.
How much happier and more confident I am at the gym.
Hearing my husband and random people at the gym tell me they see my progress.
The fantastic feeling to compliment someone else and get excited to exercise again.
But, I hate that I have to buy new clothes! Lol
That the simple act of tying ones shoes becomes so much easier! That your bum will start hurting when sitting too long on a hard chair without the extra 'padding'. That several pairs of my shoes are now too loose. That actually seeing and feeling your wrist or ankle bones is pretty cool.
Right now I have only lost 21 pounds and still have a lot to go. So as of right now I only have positive.
- Clothes fitting better, and not leaving marks on my skin.
- Being able to tie my shoes without being in pain.
- My knees don't hurt as much.
- I sleep more comfortably without my stomach in the way.
- I have been sitting up straighter which has been helping my back so much.
- Everyone is complimenting me more and being so motivating on how good of a job I'm doing. Which has given me the incentive to start dressing and looking prettier. (Makeup, hair, not hiding in a sweatshirt)

Me too, that is awful. Especially after a morning workout, I am cold all day.
