This thread is amazing!211

I've only lost 13 out of 40 lbs, but I was shocked this morning when (after realizing I'd gained a pound), I looked in the mirror and the image I saw made me feel like I had gained 10. Thankfully it motivated me to drink a lot of tea and water, so I can now see me in the mirror at my current weight and see the changes, but I couldn't believe how much my mind tricked me this morning.184

*how addictive working out can be
*that u may have some loose skin, depending on amount of weight loss

The confidence boost and projecting it onto others!!!93

How much it annoys me when someone says, "oh, you don't have to watch what you eat!" or, "oh, you don't have to work out!"
I feel like they're disrespecting the discipline and hard work it takes to be healthy ...480 -
That it takes a while for your brain to recognize the change.
Yes...the shoes! Of course that gives me an excuse to buy more...as if I needed an excuse.
The men who will hit on you! A former boss hit on me on Facebook. Um...NO! and I should mention eew! And after more than 30 years a man that was a couple of years ahead of me in high school told me that he never liked my now ex-husband, not only because he was (and still is) a jerk, but also because he was jealous.
Clothes shopping is so much fun when you can share with your daughter. Double the wardrobe!137 -
How bloating and disgusting it feels to have a day where you eat the way the old you did. After Valentine's Day I couldn't wait to go back to not eating much!273

How uncomfortable my bed really is. After loosing 100 pounds I had to buy a new mattress. I no longer had the padding around my hips.191

I love this thread and hope it continues. It's a great reality check of the emotional, physical and life changes that happen with weight loss. Congrats to all of you and thanks for your honesty.145

Something else that I struggle with is using up the excess energy without irritating others.
Bonus to my friends, since I'm a lightweight I offer to be DD.
So true! I sit at my desk in work and get up just to walk around to burn off some energy, and wereas before I'd find that sitting down for long periods was a pretty brilliant hobby, these days I want to be out and about, just walking my dogs and enjoying the great outdoors.113 -

This winds me up too... Some people genuinely don't seem able to connect that those behaviours are why you look the way you do!98 -

I love this thread! I remember finding whatever that bone is below the collarbone...I thought I had a tumor for about a week before I realized what it was! Duh!134

- how much confidence it will actually bring, especially when strangers start treating you like royalty all of a sudden!
- Sitting (particularly in baths) and laying (particularly in beds) will become ever increasingly uncomfortable.
- how vain you will become! I can't walk past a mirror without checking how I look nowadays!
Your turn!
How much energy I have and how happy I wake up in the morning73 -
- Definitely waking up happier ^
- Feeling your collarbone/ribs coming through
- Having your jeans sag around your butt and looser at the stomach - not an attractive look but I love it and hate it at the same time
- Having friends tell you you're doing a great job and that you look healthier than you've done in years (in a nice way!)
- Having friends say you look lean. I know I still have pudge on my stomach but it's leaner, it's nice having someone notice that, makes me feel like the effort is really paying off.
- Getting checked out way more, the confidence is beginning to shine through!138 -
- Having the saleswoman look at you and say, Ok, you wear a "small" right?
- Seeing your collarbone
- Being cold all the time
- Your bones hurt when trying to work out without a mat
- That eating healthy, veggies & low fat, lean meats) can mean eating a lot of food - some days I am just tired of eating, and still don't reach my calorie goal.
- Working out makes you smaller even when you're on maintenance.

And the other side of the coin, not watching what I ate was the reason I got to where I was and have no intention of getting back to.

I'm only starting on my journey - 16lbs lost since Jan 2nd. But the biggest thing is quite how much time I have to dedicate to thinking about food, prepping food. Whoever mentioned earlier about the sheer volume of healthy food I'm consuming. I'm eating 5-6 times a day. Before I would eat 3 times a day (or sometimes 2 if I skipped breakfast), but what I was eating and my portions were totally out of control.
-
- I'm having to cart masses of food into work with me every day.
-
- Love it though.123
