How long have you been doing this without losing? It doesn't matter what you eat, as long as you're in your calorie range (though what you eat can affect fluctuations, so you have to track the overall trend). Are you weighing everything? Do you eat back your exercise calories?

Set your diary to public for specific advice

The answer is yes you can eat what you want at a calorie defecit - but you have to make sure you are logging accurately and appropriately

Maybe 1500 is too many calories? I'm 5'6 and eat that. You're very petite.

I know people say you can eat anything and lose weight, but I'd feel horrible eating what you do.

for about 4 weeks and i weigh myself everyday and the scale just keeps sticking between 147 and 150 pounds. i just try to stick to the set amount 1500 calories a day, i dont understand the eating back thing.

do u think i should cut my calories down?

i had a baby 9 weeks ago so could this not be affecting it?

Did you guess 1500 calories, or get that number from somewhere? At sedentary that's about your TDEE so you might want to try cutting down a bit and not relying on exercise for your deficit. Maybe try 1400 and see how that goes.

Also do you take measurements and photos? Your measurements may go down while your weight doesn't, and if you can see a difference in photos then you know you're getting somewhere!

i got that number off one of them bmr calculaters, no not really but i might start doing.

i keep getting discouraged every time i see the scale and then i end up quitting. do u think i should bin the scale and just stick to 1400 calories a day like u said and carry on exercising?

ive lost 90 pounds before but i used eca stacks to help me and i would only eat about 1200 calories a day and did about 2 hours of exercise and i lost weight then

I'm 5"4 and I'm eating only 100 more cals than you. I'm in a deficit too. Are you eating back your exercise calories or not? Sounds like you are exercising A LOT! I used to do this too, then was told that I was doing too much and not eating enough (I never ate back my exercise calories and I only ate 1300 cals back then) apparently my metabolism slowed down from doing that lol

If you're happy to track with other things (measurements, progress pictures, how clothes fit, etc) then you can bin the scale if you want, I could never do that myself though. My weight is the only way I can tell if I'm getting anywhere, so if I binned the scales I wouldn't know how I was doing or if I needed to change anything.

Sounds like you need to reduce your calories, then. I'd say try 1400 and see how that goes, and keep reducing until you start losing weight or get to 1200. If you get to 1200 a day and you're still not losing then there's probably other problems.

does it matter with all the exercising though, because ive read on the internet if u dont eat back your calories u wont lose weight and your body will go into starvation mode.

The Internet says a lot of things (yes, I'm aware of the irony of saying that on the Internet!).

Ultimately you've been eating at 1500 for 4 weeks and lost no weight, so you need to eat less. If you're not sure how many calories you're burning through exercise you could buy a heart rate monitor and use that to get a better idea (bear in mind it is just an estimate, but better than nothing). If you're losing weight but find yourself tired and sluggish all the time, then up your calories again.

Before you eat less, make sure you are weighing all your food on a digital kitchen scale.
That's the only way to know if you're actually eating 1500 and not a higher amount!
You must weigh your food for accuracy!

How are you eating all that and staying under 1500 calories? There are nearly 200 in a ripple, and a couple of hundred in a bag of crisps. Are you weighing your potatoes? Are you weighing anything else?

"Starvation mode" is a myth. You are eating plenty of calories so you do not have to worry about that.

Do you know what your TDEE is (how much you burn each day BMR + exercise/activities)?

I am 5'4" and I exercise 6 days a week (30 minutes to 1 hour a day) and I do not eat back my exercise calories. In addition you just had a baby less than 2 months ago and I do not know if you are breast feeding or not, but....

Your body needs time to adjust to rapid changes such as "just having a baby", eating at a deficit and heavy heavy exercise for the past month.

I say you need some more time, but I would check your calories (BMR, TDEE) and get an accurate number so you can create the right deficit. If I ate 1500 calories this puts me around my TDEE (average per week) and at my height and I am at maintenance.

I did a quick guess on calories and came up with 1125:

    breakfast
    cupa soup - 77
    2 jaffa cakes - 90

    dinner
    weetabix - 136
    ripple - 176
    pineapple - 50 (100g)

    tea
    chicken, potatoes, veg - 277

    snack
    crisps - 130
    maltesers - 186

ive just googled a tdee calculater and its saying with exercising6/7 days a week my tdee is 2507. so do i eat 1500 to lose 2 pounds a week? i dont understand it. i prob burn around 650 calories in exercise a day.

Well you should know how many calories you're eating!! I just guessed there, I don't know any of the weights of what you're eating or anything like that. I just wanted to prove it's possible to eat that in a day and be within 1500 calories.

You DO weigh your food, right? How else would you know you're eating 1500 calories?

Yes. You just had a baby. It's going to take time to lose that weight. Also, are you breastfeeding? You could be maintaining because you're breastfeeding. Some women lose more quickly, but others don't. The breasts are heavy with that milk and you're a fairly tiny person. If you are breastfeeding, don't sacrifice calories that you need to feed your baby.

Maybe 1500 is too many calories? I'm 5'6 and eat that. You're very petite.

I know people say you can eat anything and lose weight, but I'd feel horrible eating what you do.

I was going to suggest this because I'm almost a foot taller than the OP at 5'10 and eat 500 more calories/day than she does. Which can seem like a lot, but I'm 11 inches taller and I'm not petite.

Is 1500 what you're netting or your overall caloric intake?

no just sticking to 1500 calories, i just dont understand how much i should be eating but im obsessed with exercising and then i struggle to east more than 1500

So this might seem like a harsh question but here goes . . . so I get that exercise high too - I'm at the gym 5 days/week, I in training for my first race in April, I push until I feel like puking. I get it - totally do. But if you got to be 147lbs at 4'11 . . . which I don't know if that's big or small on your frame . . . how do you struggle to eat more calories than you should? Someone suggested 1500 may be maintenance for you, but if you got to place where you're over the weight you want to be at, you had to be eating more than your body needs. That's just the math.

So maybe you're eating a little more than you think?

Yes . . . but if you eat 1000 calories, let's say, and then you exercise and burn 300 calories, you're only netting 700 calories.

This is the single most important piece of information, IMHO. Are you nursing? Big impact on the equation, there. How can you spend 2 hrs/day in the gym with a newborn? Admire your energy. I urge you to take care of yourself and the baby. Congrats!
