Country girl here! We have 15 acres. It's a lot of work but so worth it.

Born in the city...grew up mostly in suburbia...moved back to the city after college...now raising my own kids in the burbs. One day I'd love to return to the city. And when I say "the city"...I mean New York.

As for "the country"...it's a nice place to visit, but I wouldn't want to live there.

Raised in a very small town (4500 people) and now live in a city ( 150k-211k, depends on universities). This city is about as large as I want to live in. I can get by without a car, but it's easier than walking or taking the bus.

    Is suburbs a choice?

I don't think I could live in a city - too much bustle and not enough land for the food to grow/roam. I do wish I was a little closer to town though. I think 1-1.5 miles from a store/restaurant/bar would be nice. You know, walking distance but not in the center of everything.

Country, for sure. I lived in the city for school and couldn't wait to get back home.
That city life just isn't for me. I live in suburbia right now and am looking forward to my house selling to get back to country living. My husband and I plan on buying a few acres and building a small house with a huge workshop and a massive garden. Oh yes, please.
