I started out at 255 back in December and I'm 5'8". I'm currently 178 lbs

I don't have a picture of me presently but I do have a comparison of my before and when I was about 195,

I am 5'2 and I will probably end up about 120. I really don't think it would be healthy to lose that much weight. I think when you're at your ideal weight you will feel fantastic and know when to start maintaining :)

I was 251 and I am now 145! My original main goal was 150 and I have passed that. I changed my goal to 135. My blog is in my signature and it has several before and after pictures of me.

    Good Luck!!

I started at 220 or maybe higher and am at my goal of 135. Height is 5'8 1/2". Everyone is built differently. I am a size 6 or 8. I've seen many gals who look great as a size 2, 4 or even 0! We are all different. I would aim for a healthy BMI and to feel strong and energetic. I lost my weight slowly over a few years. Much of it I had already lost before I discovered MFP! You can do it. Give it your best.

On the left, June 2010 at around 285 pounds [that's a plate of cake in my hand]. On the right, late April/early May of 2011 at 177 - 178 or so.

Just click the link in my signature to see my success story. I'm actually 10-ish pounds lighter than I was in February (which is when I posted that, I think) and you can see more recent pictures on my profile page.

I weighed 250-260 at my highest and I'm hovering around 140-145 right now.

I'm 5'9 and currently 190lbs with my goal being 160ish. In my opinion 120lbs is unrealistic for your height. Take a look at this thread and read through some of the posts. I think you'll be surprised to see so many stories like yours from ladies who have and haven't met their goal yet.

This thread alone has really opened my eyes. I always thought I needed to weigh around 125lbs too and that may very well have been my problem all along. I was doing extreme things to my body to reach an extreme goal. Now that all of this isn't so overwhelming (thanks to MFP and lots of tall chicks on here!) this process isn't nearly as nerve wracking.

Enjoy and feel free to friend me if you wish--

I was 265 and I am now at 158, three pounds from my goal. I am 5'8". I will probably lose a few more pounds for some wiggle room and I will continue to strength train and do cardio to change my body shape more. You can look in my profile to see before pictures. I need to put some full body afters in soon, but my face is there and it is QUITE different!

I was 262 and weighed in this morning at 216. I've been going since January of this year. My goal is 160 and I am 5'10. I would love to be 140-150, but I don't know how that would look, so it will be a trial and error whenever I get down there. :)

You can do this! It is totally possible, and relatively painless after the first month or two! You discover you can eat a LOT (especially doing exercise) and yet still lose consistently.
