For workouts I like old heavy metal (anthrax, Megadeath etc), 90's grunge (Nirvana, Pearl Jam), some newer stuff like Nickleback, One Rebublic, Hozier.
For Running I run to military cadence songs

What are military cadence songs and where do you find them? The name reminds me of Sheldon and Penny singing working songs while making flowery hair clips in the BBT :)

I have tons of Britney on my playlist. I am also a fan of Happy by Pharrell Williams and old Usher songs like Yeah and If I Want to. Different genre: Sound of Madness by Shinedown.
That's awesome  The song that does it for me is Scream and Shout remix (I think it's called black man remix? Lol. It features will.i.am and Britney of course plus hit boy, diddy, wacka flacka, and lil Wayne

I usually start with Get Ur Freak On by Missy Elliott, but have a pretty varied playlist including Pearl Jam, LMFAO, Fun, Rihanna, Pitbull, Primus, the Doors, Rob Zombie...

    Missy Elliot for sure

Katy Perry-ROAR, it's my ode to the 120 lbs I've left behind and I try to time it for the end of my runs! It was playing in my ears at the finish line of my first 5k! I ran a 36 minute 5k!! Seriously felt bad *kitten* as a mother of six and grandma of 14!!

Nice! I need to add Roar to my playlist

Anything more bad a** than a song about an all female bombing squad from WWII?

    You get my vote.

Basically anything sabaton is good for me.

I normally listen to sabaton, nightwish, amaranthe etc faster louder songs

I listen to reggaeton, salsa, some pop, and timba...it's a kind of Cuban salsa. Like this:

Actually, the main artist is Colombian...but the style is still timba.

I'll suggest some left-field ones that maybe others haven't mentioned yet:
LL COOL J - Mama Said Knock You Out (I like to air punch to the "HUH!" yells...)
    PAULA ABDUL - Cold Hearted
ANTHRAX AND PUBLIC ENEMY- Bring the Noise (another great one to run to...)
JARS OF CLAY - Dead Man (Carry Me) (another one with a great mid to slightly uptempo jogging cadence..)

I got them through iTunes (though I also have a stack of cassettes, yes I'm old) here's a photo from my playlist (I have about 300). Military Cadence are the songs military members sing while running (usually during physical training).

I am EXACTLY the same LOL how weird is that?! I thought I was the only who enjoys Army running cadences. Once its pounded into you so much, you keep with it long after getting out!!!

That's awesome! My high school cross country coach had the whole team do it for breathe control (he was a Marine), my mom was a Captain in the Army and would get me the cassettes of the cadences to run to (I now have them from all the military branches). It's neat to find someone else who loves running to them, I usually get weird looks or comments!
